Mafia CLXXXVII: Good Omens AAR

Postby nanooktheeskimo » 16 Aug 2019, 03:36

Third Party Aziraphale and Crowley win! Congrats to UFO Fever and Fatmo.

Alignments:

Third party
Aziraphale: Fatmo (cover name: God)
Crowley: UFO Fever (cover name: Ligur)

Angels
Gabriel: Sjg11
Metatron: Dwiltse1114
Michael: CommanderTomalak

Demons
Beelzebub: Aeschines
Hastur: Durga/Bwlvych
Satan: Kimpossible

Special Roles:
Protector (UFO): if they targeted the Antichrist or The Collective Horsemen at night, they prevent the apocalypse. Able to target even after death. Randomly assigned to any player of any alignment.
The Collective Horsemen (Kimpossible): If they target the Antichrist at night, they trigger Armageddon. Can target deceased players. Does not target after death. Randomly assigned to any Angel or Demon.
The Antichrist (Durga/Bwlvych): If targeted by The Collective Horsemen at night, Armageddon is triggered. Not told they are the Antichrist. Randomly assigned to any player (including TCH).
Holy Smite (if Demons had possessed it, would have been called Dagger In The Night): Odd number night kill. Given to whichever side does not possess the watcher. A hierarchy is randomly assigned--if the player given the NK first dies (SJG), the person second in the hierarchy receives it (CommanderTomalak), if they are dead or die, the person third in line gets it (Dwiltse).

Win conditions:

The Angels win if Armageddon is activated and they have superior numbers to Demons OR they kill all the Demons.

The Demons win if Armageddon is activated and they have superior numbers to Angels OR they kill all the Angels.

Aziraphale and Crowley win if Armageddon is not activated and at least one Demon and one Angel are alive at the end of the game (1/1, 1/1/1, or 1/1/2). Can win even if dead.

Aziraphale and Crowley had 24/7 communication, but that was handled via discord PM so there's no link to it.

I was hoping this setup would lead to intrigue, but people were more scared or reluctant to post it seems than anything else.

Maybe something like listing a total of 6 possible angel and demon names that could be used instead of just the 4 each that were used would have gotten people to talk more?

Wanted to mark this thread.

Also wanted to specifically shout out to Commander.

Man, I really liked your style, especially for a newer forum mafia player. Your guesses were just fantastic and you are a good writer. The way you think of things mechanically reminded me a lot of Aes.

This was kind of a very low activity/intensity game for this site. But I’d love to be town with you sometime if you decide to play here again. I’m always town...except this time lol.
You don't know what I'm thinking...because I don't know what I'm doing.

Damn you beat me to that.

Lol I’m just so tired from partying though, with my birthday yesterday.

Ok...alright. Just one more ;)

I think I asked Nook way back during N0 with our first flurry of questions. I don’t remember him answering though and I just dropped it. He might have answered and I just forgot he did.

Congrats Fatmo & UFO - in a way I'm glad you prevented armageddon!

Interesting format, would probably have been more fun to be involved from day one and possibly with a couple more players.
