Poll on Fog of War change

Following a recent Suggestions thread, there is a proposal to maintain order history maps for previous years in Fog of War games. The disussion thread is here https://www.playdiplomacy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=59069. Briefly, when this has come up before there has been a feeling that FoW is supposed to be hard, and if you want histories you need to keep them yourself. But it may well be that time has moved on and the preference now is to make them available in the Order History as they are for non-fog games.

So this is your chance to vote! Should we change or not?

I would prefer to save myself some bookkeeping. I don’t see how mandatory bookkeeping makes the game any better.

I’ve voted yes.

I just want to add a clarification that ought to be obvious to FoW players but none the less, this change will only affect the duration that information is visible - I.e. permanently allowing players to view previous turn’s maps - it will not provide any new information that is not already at some point available in each game.

I know that sounds on the face of it the fair way to move forward. But the trouble is every time we add options for having/not having something, we make it harder to fill games because there are too many choices. And anyway, at this point it looks pretty overwhelming that people want the history
