Dertainly all valuable resources, but the best way to improve your game is to keep playing. Also the most enjoyable. :geek:

I think I spent days reading every article on the Diplomacy Archive...after only one game. I then re-read them all a half dozen times, and tried to act them out in my head/on the board, and come up with my own, etc etc...till finally I found this site to let my obsession out. ;)

Reading the strategies though helps you bridge the gap from your 2nd game, when the rules are understood and some of the nuances to your 15th game when you play as if it is second nature and you start to see the patterns and trends. Clearly no substitute for playing but it sure can help out those who are new to the game.

Why don't you make that topic sticky?
On that day we’ll say to Hell: “Have you had enough?”
And Hell will answer: “Is there more?”

Second place in the first round in the Wonderful Mansion tournament with a solo in 1907.
Eat that, Edi Birsan :)

Ah... but when Avalanche gives Diplomat all his powers then Diplomat can do it (says Diplomat logged on as Ava).

We should have thought of this long ago MR! ;)
