Replacement points bonus

Postby Samarkand » 21 Jan 2009, 00:18

I was thinking of adding all primary scores of the players that dropped in Round One and distributing them among the replacement players equally (rounded to the nearest). So, for example, if 4 people dropped with a total of 13 points from both rounds, each of the 4 replacement players will get a starting bonus of 13/4=3 (rounded) points. This will give the replacement players a better chance to fight for the final table and serve as a sign of appreciation of what they are doing?

What do you think? Can the TB vote by PM me?

What if someone played and gained 0 points? Would they be at a disadvantage?
Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

The proposition was rejected.
Good concerns were expressed - one of them that people who got zeros and stayed after the first round will be at a disadvantage to people who just came. In addition, with two rounds left, everybody has a pretty good chance to get in the final table - there are 7 spots there and two games can get you up to 24 points.
