Well, that's a question about the Classicists, so I'd say this is the right place for it.

As you say, it sounds like the Classicists are the perfect group for you to join. We can't enforce the no NMR or surrender thing as such, but every Classicist game I've played (so far 4) has been pretty good on that front, and the quality of the games is better than in any other game I've played. But to answer your question, you will be welcome to join the group as soon as your fifth game is finished. Your stats are perfect - 0% surrender, 99.47% consistency. But to ensure reliability people have to have completed 5 games to be accepted - that won't take long from the sounds of things, so hopefully you won't mind waiting. But those are the only things we care about, skill and things like that aren't important (although I notice that in 3 games you're already only 0.8 points behind me which is annoying :P )

If you feel like it'll take a while for you to get those games finished, you can always make a game with a password and post it here. It won't be officially a Classicist game, but if you post it in the forum then players signing up are more likely to be reliable, Classicists or not.

Hi all,

Do those 5 games have to be ranked? If not, I'll be joining you soon....

I don't think so. Unranked games still show up on your stats page I believe, they just don't give any points. As long as we can see that you've completed 5 games in which the consistency rate is over 95% and you haven't surrendered you're fine to join.

Thanks for the response.

So, once I'm "in," is there an easy way to find Classicists games?

There is a regular Classicists news letter which you will be included in which comes to your inbox. It will tell you about everything- including games being planned. I believe it is sent to you by AndyCooke

XLNT. I'll just surrender one of my active games and that will put me at the 5 I need to be a Classicisticisisticist.

Just in case you aren't joking, please don't do that!

Yes, I was joking. Forgive me--but I like to, can, and do make myself laugh. My grandfather told me that "only a fool laughs at his own jokes." I am that fool.

I am interested in joining the Classicists, though I do not yet have the minimum requirement of 5 completed games (when I do, I'll get back to you). So far, I have 0 surrenders and only 1 NMR (which was avoidable, I will admit).

I do have a question though. I am considering taking someone else's place temporarily (as a sub) in one game. Obviously, when the main player returns, I would be forced to surrender from said game. If I were to actually do this, would it prevent me from becoming a member of this group?
An empty gun can be useful, if the person it's pointed at doesn't know that it's empty.
