Gunboat Diplomacy Openings for England

I get asked about this all the time. I finally reduced my thoughts to a writing so that I can direct people to an article (rather than explain myself for the umpteenth time).

Gunboat Diplomacy Openings for England

This isn't an exhaustive analysis of all possible openings, but my analysis of the openings that I typically see in my matches. I do answer the question of which opening I consider to be best and why.

A really good article, which provides some really helpful high level thoughts - things like getting Germany into Belgium so they can fight France is exactly the sort of thing I can overlook as a beginner.

One request Brotherbored - I know you play at a different place, but why not play a game with us here from time to time? It would be great to play an anonymous game and find I'd played against one of the finest diplomacy minds, and help relate your play to your writings :)

I'll take you up on the invitation sooner or later! I really appreciate your friendly encouragement. What holds me back right now is that I recently started a new private league with players on my Discord server, and we decided to use Backstabbr. So I've got matches going on via two websites already—I don't want to miss turns or something terrible like that.
