For all of you who are against protecting games from NMRs please have a look at game 6, R1. Several NMRs from Germany, England and Austria. Tournaments are likely to want to keep games as clean as possible in terms of missed turns.

Seeding based on R1 results for R3 makes no sense. Because several players (including me) adjusted their strategy because of finished games in R1.

Most likely our TD is going to drop the number of boards before creating games for R3 and R4.

At the start of round 3 I believe there are 48 players who are still "Live" in the tournament. 4 of these players are not required to play in Round 3 as they have already played more than 2 games. This leaves 44 players which equates to 7 boards with 5 spare spots.

I believe some of the players you mention here have taken over as 'replacements' in games which as far as my understanding goes do NOT score and do not count as one of their entrants. So they would be in the pot.

This needs I think to be clarified by the TD as it wasnt envisaged in the original rules.

The players that have left the tournament such as Brother Bored among others should also be removed pot list though I dont know exactly which this applies as its not mentioned in the standings.

Aye, the new standings were drawn up without knowledge of replacements/CDs. I'll go through and fix them before next weekend, although I'm considering getting the rounds launched as top priority so doing confirmation PMs first.

A few important announcements:

I am not changing the phase deadlines for R3/4 - they will still be 3 days - but I am launching R3 and R4 simultaneously. This will hopefully achieve the speedup required.

I am dropping all conditions Malarky wrote up about game/country designation in R3 and R4, except for the one saying that no player will draw the same country twice. So there is no seeding and you may be playing against the same player you've faced previously.

All other rules stand as previously written. Something important to bear in mind going into these rounds, Malarky's scoring system is that the Medal Round Top Board adds to your qualifying score unless the game is solo'd, so getting a solid qualifying score is important beyond just being in the top 7.
