Those of you who are involved in the Online Diplomacy Championship, and therefore playing in the Playdip Open Classic (whether you knew that last bit or not) may be wondering about the naming of Round 1 the "Burgess" round. And, if you've read all the posts, you may know that the metaphorical trophy you're playing to win the POC is called the Tuggle Trophy.
Well,
I wrote a post about it here, on the
Online Diplomacy Championship site. Not a long one, and I'm not going into any great depth here, but just as a nod to the people it represents. I'll add the names used for further rounds when they start.
Trophy: The Tuggle Trophy
Round 1: The Burgess Round

As in Tom Tuggle a.k.a. Shyvve? If so that is a befitting honor. I had the privilege of playing in two games with him.
