Yeh, busy with confirmations, games, real life. I take it you haven't looked at the list of who has confirmed?

Just to confirm - everyone who has confirmed is in (if you think I've missed you, give me a nudge) and everyone who has signed-up since weekend of 19/20 March has been added to the list. Not only the confirmation list above but the signed-up list.

@Malarky - thanks for pointing us to the confirmation page, very helpful.

Now, when you have time, I'm confused in regards to the scoring. The first post indicates (to me) a draw based scoring system, but then the second post mentions Sum of Squares scoring. And to me, it's not clear is if the SOS scoring applies to those included in the draw, or if it only applies to those survivors not included in the draw. Would a 10 center power who was included in a 3WD earn 200 points, or 300? Or some other number based on a percentage?

So a couple of scoring examples would be helpful. Or maybe someone else familiar with this system could chime in ...

There are 700 points in a game.

A solo is worth the full 700.

A draw is awarded a share of 600 plus a share of 100 pts that are based on SoS. So a 3-way would score 200 plus the SoS score.

God, I'm so dense, with the attention span of a weevil when it comes to either stalemate lines or scoring systems.

I only do it for the watermelons.

Does this mean.....

1. Solo's are all-seeing awesomeness
2. Draws are less awesome, but ok if you're the '15-centre Turkey person'
3. A hard-slog negotiation into a 5-way draw as a 2-centre Italy's a bit shit.

Does that sum it for the technologically challenged/lazy folks.

That makes it like 'Dip-Gods/WHSeward's/Carebear's' old Elite Tournaments, yes?

Pootle, I think you got it. I understood your explanation to a tee. I'm still not sure what Malarky's SOS is. So I figure Solo or draw with as few people as possible.

Yes. Your name is on the list of entrants and list of confirmed players.

The deadline has passed and we have 58 confirmed players. That's... problematic. So I'm going to see if, before Sunday, we can get another 5 entrants or confirmed players. Otherwise I'll have to relegate 2 people to the Reserve list.

game Starts will come out on Sunday, however. Watch your PMs.

Just round the next corner...
