Super Pastis Final board 2021 AAR

Postby socratease » 03 Dec 2021, 07:02

So, I've been politely waiting for the 'winner(s)' of this piece of shit Final Board to make some kind of case for themselves.

Nada so far, so I'll commence from Germany's perspective. It's pretty short-n-sweet: Russia and France handed England an EASY win, which England totally failed to even attempt to grasp.

What a joke. I won't say I'd never play SuperPastis scoring again, but boy howdy if I ever ran into this crew again I'd sure re-think whether I was playing Diplomacy or some version of "let me wash my shorts first" Snowflake Participation Crapshoot.

By 1904, England had this in the bag given French and Russian support for all English gains while they had NOTHING, and from there with Germany's cooperation a very solid shot at Victory, support for which was sincerely offered. Austria had a wee shot at contesting but backed off, thinking Russia would opt for potential English stalemate and at least a shot at Toilet Paper award but NOOOO.

By 1905, the Win was an easy Try if the pusillanimous Brits had any balls, but again noooo. Putrid waste of a month thereafter playing SC draw / point-shaving. What a massive waste of everyone's time and effort.

Boooo. Worst crap piece of shit 'win' of the SP trophies ever seen. May its like never repeat.

PS While waiting for the winner(s, counting the TP Award) to defend their pusillanimous play over 5 years to gain a couple of points in a Final Board where absolute point values dwarfed those 'gains' by a factor of >10x, and whose pontifically 'holier-than-thou' posing eschewed with prejudice an equivalent draw in 1905 with Poseur Grandiosity, I've been wondering...

who claims to be 'serious' about the game?

Expound, explicate and expostulate. Enquiring minds want to know!

Reckon the winner had a license printed up:

or maybe had a contretemps with law enforcement:

Looks like England is the winner. Hail to the King!

I didn't watch it, I was too busy losing in the Tin.

Thank you, Custer. It was obvious not a game Socratease enjoyed; he was also the first one I stabbed so some of that resentment is understandable.

I've never won a game like this before, so if I missed some opportunities or was hesitant in playing aggressively, I take full blame. But I thank all participants in this final and in the tournament. It was a great challenge.

*has almost finished the 'nasty' bottle of wine. The trick being to drink the first two glasses REALLY quickly, then the rest really doesn't taste that bad*

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!

Ok, so I ADMIT IT. I BLOODY ADMIT IT.

Me = bad

Germany spent 01 trying to get Italy to attack France.

Germany spent 01 trying to get England to move ENG and Wal.

Germany 'misordered' a planned move of Par to Bur, Mun to Ruhr in S01, to leave an contested English convoy to Bel in F01. "Wow! Checked moves post-deadlines Pootle, HOW did I end up bouncing in Bur? I am sooooooo sorry. I don't understand HOW that could have happened?" LOL.

Germany builds two armies in 01. Wot, no boats? Lol.

Did I smile when Germany was the first power to be stabbed by England?

Hell, YES. Wipe that grin :)

Gotta get Pootle, TP, TP, TP, TP..... ENGLAND. You need 16 centres, France needs knocked back to 5...... Go on, go on, go on.....

*smiles*

*still smiling*

*grabs popcorn too*

*Is slightly pished*

Happy Friday, one and all.

May you smile all weekend.

I am.

Loadsa love

I will make an AAR soon. In the meantime, I again congratulate England, whose humility is in stark (pun intended) contrast to socratease. I don't think you need to 'take the blame' for anything , you got an early lead and kept it with careful play that prevented a stop the leader alliance from forming. You got the job done! Socratease thinks otherwise, but then he lectured most of us on how we should have been playing on his way to the early bath.
