Tournament update

Josey Wales who was playing Germany in 192859 2D has left the tournament for real life reasons with our agreement and best wishes.

A replacement player from the waiting list has taken over the vacated position.

Surviving players can agree a DIAS draw from Spring 1906 onwards if they all wish to.

We got our business done early (partly expediated by Italy accelerating his own departure), and there was little appetite and limited incentive among the 4 corner powers to stab each other once done. Because the scoring system makes eliminations and shared tops expensive (points-wise) to the pool overall, most of us benefited by not playing on a further year to take Austria's last center.

I have a written a brief (by my standards) AAR of the game where I expand on the above:

I mean, let's be fair here... there absolutely should have been both massive incentive and plentiful opportunities for England especially to go for a bigger slice of the pie! (Russia to a bit lesser degree.) :) I'm sure you did some stellar diplomacy to convince both of your allies that the draw was in their best interests, but to me, it is kind of mind-boggling that they agreed to it. Well done though!

(I was obviously happy to just draw to survive, it was the best outcome I could have hoped for from that position.)
