I like the setting. I would have to play it more to get a better feel for it
If anything it plays almost a little too similarly to classic Dip, possibly with even more stalemate possibilities

Wasn’t one of my favorite games but I probably took some wrong turns strategically early and real life kept me from having the time to generate great alliances, I for the most part felt I was out by myself

My early strategy was team up with either China or Russia whichever established themselves against the other... instead they both pretty much collapsed

The dynamics with Holland and Japan are certainly a difference from classic
Both have a lot of similarities to England being out there off the mainland

I wanted to try out a Franco-Dutch pact for a change. Too often these two just butcher themselves into KAR.

Holland was adamant on going after Britain though, which I think was to benefit Turkey/Japan far more than either B/H.

I made a mini-stab of Britain in Burma after delaying as much as I could. Holland served as a nice buffer for my left flank while I tried to figure out what the hell to do with China/Japan.

Ultimately, Japan felt like the best chip. I stabbed Holland on Borneo, but I don't think they fully realized it. Then Japan and I stabbed each other at the same time a couple turns later, real fun.

Then I tried to halt everything and stop bloody Turkey. Very well played, I think China/Russia fighting helped wonders too.
