Diplomacy of Ice & Fire II: Spring 299 AC

Postby Aeschines » 03 Jul 2018, 14:27

Fall 299 AC orders are due July 5 at 9pm Eastern Standard Time!

A Spider's Notes: 299/S,

As the tricentennial of Aegon's flames approaches, Lords Baratheon and Tyrell seem set on completing the one thing Aegon never could do - forcing the Dornish to bend the knee. My sources indicate that the Tyrell fleet has seized the coast off Saltshore and is poised to deal a crippling blow at Sandstone, while the Baratheon forces pin down the majority of the Dornish in the marches. It seems that destiny cannot but repeat itself and the Dornish smallfolk have already begun to arm themselves for guerrilla action. In the Narrow Sea, the quadpartite alliance between the Lannisters, Targaeryens, Tyrells, and Baratheons - put into place by Cersei Lannister - seems on the brink of collapse. The Stag & Dragon navies have clashed in the Narrow Sea. Though neither was able to secure the advantage, the deaths of those sailors is likely to fan the fires of war.

In the west, the Lannisters have accomplished a great feat for a second time in a generation. Only twenty years ago, Tywin Lannister landed forces at Pyke to force "King" Balon Greyjoy to submit. Yet again, the Fleet of the Golden Lion has seized the ports at Pyke and are laying siege to the castle of Balon. That the Ironborn will fight back is a certainty. The only thing left to find out is whether one of the Lannisters' earstwhile "allies" will take this opportunity to have their debts repaid with largely-undefended Lannister gold.

All who walk the halls of power walk the spider's web.

Iskis the Spider

Dear Iskis

Dragon Update
The Dragons are getting big. Almost housetrained. We now only get occasional singes on the carpet. Hamish, Hector and Harris are the size of small pterodactyls. You'd hardly recognise them.

The babies are coming on too. They keep Jorah quite busy. High jinx last night and Jorah lost his eyebrows.

An unfortunate incident saw baby Henrietta devour a visitor named Jack. Such a pity. A handsome man wielding a fine piece of weaponry, but no match for our fiery babies.

Lannister and I are still in that blissful honeymood period where he does all those thoughtful, romantic things. Maybe this one is for keepsies, although he isn't a fan of how the winged babies wake us up in the morning. They're just hungry and like to make their presence felt.

Still a fan of violins, dancing and mens chests. Khaleesi's one true love, knows that. He knows how to wield a weapon.

Here are the orders for House Targaryen:
Pentos move Myr... succeeded
D.S.Isle move Narrow Sea... bounced
Duskendale move Bay of Crabs... succeeded

"Fire and Blood."

StarkAdder - House Martell
What a tangled web we weave when we first practice to receive.....

The proud nation of Dorne sends these orders to its bannermen and Corsair captains for the spring:

Army Sandstone SUPPORT A Prince’s Pass to hold... supported unit succeeded
Army Prince’s Pass SUPPORT F Sea of Dorne to Dornish Marches... support cut
Fleet Sea of Dorne MOVE Dornish Marches... bounced
Fleet Sunspear MOVE Sea of Dorne... bounced

We continue to seek to unite all lands that bear the name Dorne. It is our right and sacred honor.

"Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken."

willie23 - House Stark
F Karhold MOVE Bay of Seals... succeeded
F Winterfell MOVE Brandon’s Gift (wc)... succeeded
A Moat Cailin MOVE The Neck... succeeded
A Whiteharbor MOVE Moat Cailin... succeeded

"Winter Is Coming."

Sour Flour - House Greyjoy
NSS -> Golden Sea... bounced
Ironman's Bay convoy Flint's Fingers -> Harlaw... succeeded
Flint's Fingers -> Harlaw... succeeded

"We Do Not Sow."

ccloughley - House Lannister
The first fleet in the Golden Sea valiantly lands on the island of Pyke, ready to do away with House Greyjoy... succeeded
The second fleet in Casterly Rock sets sail to the Ironman's Bay in an effort to relive the beleaguered second army (not a support order)... bounced
The third fleet in Lannisport sets sail to the Golden Sea in order to provide reinforcements to the invasion force... bouinced
The second army in The Twins fortifies its position in anticipation of an assault... succeeded
The first army in Harrenhall marches South to Stoney Sept in order to secure the countryside... succeeded

"Hear Me Roar!"

Groo - House Baratheon
These are difficult times for the House of Baratheon, Lord Iskas. War is raging in the South, but there are also whispers of Targaryen attack from behind. I hope those are not true, but one can not be certain with the Mother of Dragons. Therefore my fleets and armies must both attack and defend at the same time.
Thankfully, the 7 have gifted me with a beautiful wife and a powerful ally, and with a little luck the Dornish usurpers will soon be destroyed and the Dothraki hordes will be stopped before reaching Westeros.

F Southern Narrow Sea to Narrow Sea... bounced
F Griffin's Roost to Sea of Dorne... bounced
A Stormlands to RK... succeeded
A Dornish Marches s Ashford to Prince's Pass... support cut

"Ours Is the Fury."

AKFD - House Tyrell
Ashford-Prince's Pass... bounced
Oldtown-Blackmont... succeeded
Starfall S Oldtown-Blackmont... supported unit succeeded
Shield Isles H... succeeded
Arbor-Western Summer Sea... succeeded

"Growing Strong."

A NOTE FROM JORAH MORMONT

As the Queens aide, I would like to point out that any rumours of a Mother of Dragons attack constitutes a large steaming pile of smelly Dragon poo.

She does not waste time on trivialities. A cheap grab is beneath her.

You should realise by now that Khaleesi is a girl of honour and integrity. She will not be held hostage.

She has made pancakes and opened the special reserve 'Pentos Spirit' for anyone who wishes to discuss a genuine partnership of equals.

That is all.

Servant to Khaleesi, Mother of Dragons

Hey Khaleesi,

What's the recipe? Or is it kept secret?

Also, I'm not at war with the Lannisters or Targayens yet, just the Martells for now :)

Sir Jorah, tell Khaleesi that I'll accept the pancakes and offer an apology.

The word YET concerns me gravely

Why add a YET to a message meant to reassure.

Reassure it has not.

Groo wrote:Sir Jorah, tell Khaleesi that I'll accept the pancakes and offer an apology.

Mr Baratheon, Sir. Khaleesi suggests that you ponder who provided you with that steaming pile of malicious poo and the reasons you are being misled.

He who spreads such malicious tales for personal gain cannot be trusted.

She wished me to inform you that the Dothraki have a way of dealing with men who lie for personal gain rather than act with honour. Something about blunt knives and having no balls.

I do not wish to speak out of turn, Sir. I am merely counsel to the Queen. But between the two of us, it may be opportune to re-evaluate some of your friendships. I'm not sure Marjaery is entirely trustworthy.

Yours in confidence

Jorah

Only his teeth and impressive sword remain.

Poor Henrietta almost choked.

LET THIS BE A LESSON TO YOU ALL

Pootle, sorry for that.

I was trying to make peace. But for real, I have no interest in Targayen or Lannister land.

Martell land will do.

Also, PLEASE tell me more about your pancakes!

The pancakes are mediocre my friend, but her whiskey is superb.

If there is any pancake about to be consumed in Westeros, I think it is me.

In game terms yes.

But I denounce cannibalism. (OFC!)

I'd love pancakes in maple syrup though...
