You’re putting up a very strong showing for the #32 seed! We’re all rooting for you... but won’t stoop so low as to offer advice.

Experience pays off :)
But tongue in cheek aside, I do think that the more you play these, the easier it gets both to stay on course and to recognize/punish gambits or mistakes by your opponents.

I'm not going to be too specific on an ongoing game, but it's really interesting to watch mhsmith0's moves, which are on some instances very different from what I would do... I guess experience does change your view on how to go for the 18 in this game, e. g. how to behave with respect to the stalemate line, and how to deal with raiders behind your own line...

Maybe I'll toss up an AAR for the round when it finishes? There isn't a 2pc tournament subtopic on the forum, so I'd probably just chuck it into the regular AAR pile I guess...

AAR up for the curious. As far as I'm concerned, both games were pretty much locked in after 1902. IMO it's something of a testament to the power of the opening set of moves; if your early advantage is large enough, it really can't be overcome.
