But, I couldn't help notice you're from California.

Haha, my ailment is a very demanding full time job plus two very young kids. I take it you’re probably retired and without toddlers in the house? But even if it wasn’t for that, I find that keeping the number of concurrent games to 2-3 means you can do much better in the games that you play, as it allows you to really focus. I may not play many games at the same time, but I put a ton of effort in the few games that I have going. You should try playing fewer games at some point to see if it’d improve your performance at all! It’s not about quantity, but quality!

The other challenge with the PDL is the lack of breaks. Occasionally after a tough game I like taking a couple of weeks off to clear my mind. That’s not an option in PDL, except from the one rather long break that everyone gets. I prefer many smaller breaks than a single long one.

I’m not from California btw, but I live here. From Greece originally, been in the states for over a decade, about half in Boston and another half in LA. I do think LA is the coolest city in the US however :D

That’s a pretty high bar! But yeah, if you don’t have enough players over the bar, you can always just sort the players you have by rank and assign to the D1 games the top ones.

Yep that's the plan. And the tentative bar is based on where the initial division split was, it took a rating of 1230 to be placed in D1 to start

Can I ask a rules clarification?

I’m all for non-league subs in order to cut down on the panicky scramble to get surrendered spots filled, but I presume these non-league players will be involved in any draw proposal, yes? And not as we had last year, draws being decided in DMs.

Yes,that's the way I intended it, once a sub is in they must be part of the draw. Any draw points earned by the temporary substitute would go into the pool of points assigned to the permanent replacement.

Is there still a need for replacement players?
If so, count me in.

So far there hasn’t been a need for replacements, but this tends to happen mid-year. There’s a small list of reserves (I’m on it too).

Sure we'll add you to the list. At best it seems 1 opening is possible for these March games and as Jay pointed out I have a couple of potential reserves, but there are games coming in May, July, and September that will likely need replacements.

I won't be available for the July game, other than that it sounds good!

Hopefully no replacements needed - you've done a wonderful job so far of getting this running without any quitters yet. 4 January games still going but I don't think have much left in them, and 3/4 of the March games have started (mine is still waiting on one more player - but as he's active in a Jan game I suspect it's more him trying to manage his commitments rather than not being available).

Looking forward to the AARs of the remaining January games - some really interesting boards going on.

Hi there! Happy to sub into one of the PDL games if needed.
