Hey Aeschines,

I reduced the file size of your map by over half simply by saving it as a .gif

It needs to be reduced by half again.

Your display of which player gets which power is at the edge of the limit for file sizes.

Sorry about that - I shrunk the map and the anti-aliasing got messed up and made it huge. I'll have a fully fixed copy up ASAP.

It's not a perfect solution, but I can help you out on using imgur to host and display map files. It'll allow you quite a bit more flexibility with your maps.

If you save as PNG-8 you'll get a better compression rate. I just downloaded your image and saved as a flattened and indexed PNG-8 image, nothing else. Almost at that 80kb limit. That's without doing anything to anti-aliasing or borders etc.. Compare the dimensions of the image to ModEx and Heptarchy and I'm more than sure it would be possible to get that image down to 60kb or even less.

Anyway, all this talk of file size is digressing from the game. Good luck folks. I'll be watching with interest!

I fixed it! I re-did the map at 1000x900 pixel scale. It took a couple of hours, but was worth it for both readability, size, and aliasing. Good luck everyone!

Yay! Thanks, quite a bit clearer... Though, the Gulf of Corinth is without a name tag currently.
EDIT: And the bridges have sunk. ;)

It's because some Emperor or another declared war on the sea, I think.
