Yes. One of the benefits of living in Los Angeles is that you'll never miss a film being released. If I'd have seen this thread earlier I'd have got it right away--pretty distinctive poster, that one. It is excellent, for anyone that hasn't seen it, and I'm not much of a WWII buff.

So I guess it's my turn to be obscure, eh?

Maybe I just have too much time on my hands, but I've spent FORTY-FIVE minutes searching Google, Google Images, and IMCDb.org for anything with the words: movie, film, still, scene, gas, gas station, Ford, two Fords, connected, Sinclair...

...and I can't find that top picture at all! And you got it from somewhere online... Therefore, this film must be too obscure for anyone else to find, let alone have seen. Am I wrong?

If I'm not, let's not get TOO obscure here, fellas! This thread might die!

Sorry, sorry. Maybe I was overdoing it. I wasn't sure if the object of the game was to stump people or what...

Hints galore:
1.) The film is the second in a series.
2.) The film's director is married to a famous European singer.
3.) The white haired character in the bottom frame is Harry Houdini at the World's Columbian Exhibition in 1893.
4.) Slayer's drummer rips out a mean drum solo in the third act.

The bad news is that 'print screen' allows anyone to get any scene of any film- they only have to either a) own the film or b) find a clip of it on youtube.

So unless you have watched the entirety of youtube then you may not have found where the film is online.

Of course you could try to find out if detroit has a profile on flikr, photobucket or picassa....

EDIT: I think the film is Cremaster 2. If I am right then can Minneapolitan please take my turn because i'll be out most of the day. If he hasnt taken it by the time I get back then i'll take the turn myself ;)

It's OK. Aside from some third-degree burns and severe mental scarring, I think we'll be OK.

Hey, thanks Sid! Cremaster 2, eh? Hmmm...I'll look into it!

I'm making an effort to pick images that are subtle enough to be a challenge, but iconic enough to be fun!

No surprise, I like this one...

I just want to go on record as saying I really think there is a place in this thread for difficult to nail images and movies.

Everyone doesn't need to have a shot at each one for this thread to continue and be interesting.

That's part of the interest in this kind of thread, put it out there and see if with the diversity of experiences we bring to the table if anyone else recognizes the film.

I hope people will continue to post obscure films, so long as they are endorsed as worth watching. It's interesting and I appreciate the recommendations.
