One of these days I’ll get back into fighting shape. For now family along with a heavy travel schedule is just dominating my attention far too much. Time for me to finally take that sabbatical I’ve been talking about for years serious, even if it is just for a little while.
The first quality that is needed is audacity.

I've only really interacted at all with two of the final board players, and haven't even played any of them.

So I guess my first horse is Machiara, arguably the favorite.

Also got to root for the exciting and uniquely intense F2F guest Starmonkey, who I may or may not see at whipping if we both decide we are going to go.

Game is on my watched games list now. Git stabbin'

Also gsmx, welcome to the world of finally being on hiatus! It's actually pretty nice. The longer you don't play though, the more you think about playing. And then when you come back you may be frustrated with how rusty you've become. At least that's been my experience over the last few years.

I need to check with the proper liberal authorities to see if I'm actually allowed to set foot in California again. I believe they passed a law after I moved out of Carmel-By-The-Sea.

Not that I blame them. Fundamental incompatibility. If I had a legislature of my own, I'd pass a few laws myself. And y'all would either laugh or cry.... or start an Antifa rally.

Considering Whipping. It's less than ideal. A con in California is more likely to pick its dates to avoid conflicting with Ramadan than with Easter, apparently. Love Siobhan, though. Want to see the baby. And it's always nice to check in with Edi on local politics. We have fun conversations. I've known Adam SIlverman since I played diplomacy in AOL chatrooms on my Pentium 133 from Gateway with the AOL 3.0 1.44MB floppy. Would love to see Louis. I met him in Round 2 o the tourney. That dude is funny as hell. Maybe it's a lawyer thing.

But there's always Vancouver in Two Weeks, Chris Brand is the bomb. Come hang out.

Don't root for me too hard in the game, though. It's not looking good so far. ;-)

Not sure any of us are feeling incredibly comfortable, SM. Although I am enjoying the comms. Very high quality from pretty much everyone!
Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught.

No idea is so outlandish that it should not be considered with a searching but at the same time a steady eye.

We must be on different boards...

Odds by country:
Austria: 6/1 to solo, 7/1 to draw
England: 8/1 to solo, 3/1 to draw
France: 5/1 to solo, 2/1 to draw
Germany: 3/1 to solo, 5/1 to draw
Italy: 12/1 to solo, 4/1 to draw
Russia: 4/1 to solo, 5/1 to draw
Turkey: 7/1 to solo, 2/1 to draw

Odds by player:
Conq: 2/1 to solo, 3/1 to draw
BullCall: 5/1 to solo, 4/1 to draw
Buachaille: 5/1 to solo, 2/1 to draw
StarMonkey: 3/1 to solo, 4/1 to draw
Bravo Papa Alpha: 4/1 to solo, 4/1 to draw
Bromley86: 4/1 to solo, 3/1 to draw
Machiara: 3/1 to solo, 4/1 to draw

Silly bets, highlighted in a silly color
Belgium neutral after F01: 2/1

MORE than 2 neutrals after F01: 3/1

ALL neutral SCs claimed after F01: 2/1

Player that accidentally outs themselves first: StarMonkey even odds, Buachaille 3/2

gsmx somehow wins the tournament despite not being on the top board: a lock.

Starting with 100 points I wager...

10 on Belgium neutral after F01

30 on Austria to draw
20 on Germany to draw
20 on Russia to draw
20 on Italy to draw

FWIW I'm presuming that a draw of ANY size wins that bet, so feel free to do a 7-way draw fells :D
