The Menataur

Hi everybody.

This is a mentor account owned by a player who is fairly well known on the site. I set it up to start some mentor games for new players. They will be games for people who are new to the site and have played 3 or less games here. It is ONLY going to be played in these games; I have checked this with rick.leeds and he's okayed it. If the mentor games don't get off then it'll be banned. You won't find it in any games other than mentor, no rank games.

There is one game up and running: 3-games or less newbie game. One of the players, other than me of course, isn't as much a noob as he wants to make us believe. I hope he'll take on a similar role to me as the game is unranked and won't gain him anything anyway.

The basic idea was as discussed a while ago (i can't find the link as it may be in Premium and this account isn't premium) and I'll refine it as I go along.

I suppose we don't need one, I just didn't want it to be involved with the other games I'm playing. Wanted to keep the two separate.

The recruiting topic for the original games was viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9961&start=20 - the first post gives two links to previous discussions.

That idea seems to have died with the disappearance of TheRedArmy (cue TheCraw). If you're really a respected player on the site (I'm not actually doubting it!) then you could take over the semi-official job of organising it. Perhaps Rick would vouch for you?

Not sure about respected ;) but I do know the identity of The Menataur.

Has anyone ever heard anything from TRA? I was in a game with him when he dropped off site (and I hadn't even stabbed him by then... oh wait, I might have ;) ) and it was pretty sudden.

Nothing about TRA. TheCraw I know has e-mailed him and written snail to him, without I think any response. That's not good
