New to Diplomacy, but really enjoy social deduction and strategy games. Played a ton of Town of Salem, Avalon, and quite a few strategy games(SpyParty, Starcraft, Risk to name a few). Saw a review for this game online and thought it was really interesting, but could never could find the time/people to play it. Thankfully, this site looks like it's pretty popular and I'd love to get involved with the community. It seems like the Mentoring thread is the best place to get started? If anybody has any tips for someone completely new to Diplomacy I'll gladly take any advice/direction on where to begin.

Welcome, Yeesh, to the PlayDip family! You're going to love it here. Find a mentor game and read up the rules and strategies of Diplomacy on line.

We are indeed like a loving family, with the same sorts of ongoing sibling rivalries and unexpected relationships. It's complicated.

Welcome - I would thoroughly recommend joining a mentor game. It's the best way to get started and there's a lot of guide information both on the site and out there on the inter-webs.
