I did, didn't I? Crap! Sorry, sorry, sorry.

And I can't delete because of the HUGE developers' oversight that won't let me if there's a subsequent message.

So, in order to avoid this message being further spam, I will provide the obligatory joke in order to make it worthwhile.

(Actually, I've found several)

“Poor Old fool,” thought the well-dressed gentleman as he watched an old man fish in a puddle outside a pub. So he invited the old man inside for a drink. As they sipped their whiskeys, the gentleman thought he’d humor the old man and asked, “So how many have you caught today?”
The old man replied, “You’re the eighth.”

Infinitely many mathematicians walk into a bar. The first says, “I’ll have a beer.” The second says, “I’ll have half a beer.” The third says, “I’ll have a quarter of a beer.” Before anyone else can speak, the barman fills up exactly two glasses of beer and serves them. “Come on, now,” he says to the group, “You guys have got to learn your limits.”

An amnesiac walks into a bar. He goes up to a beautiful blonde and says, “So, do I come here often?”

The barman says, “We don’t serve time travelers in here.”
A time traveler walks into a bar.

A panda walks into a bar and gobbles some beer nuts. Then he pulls out a gun, fires it in the air, and heads for the door. “Hey!” shouts the bartender, but the panda yells back, “I’m a panda. Google me!” Sure enough, panda: “A tree-climbing mammal with distinct black-and-white coloring. Eats shoots and leaves.”

A horse walks into a bar. The bartender says, “Hey.”
The horse says, “You read my mind, buddy.”

Two men walk into a bar. You’d think at least one of them would have ducked.

Two cartons of yogurt walk into a bar. The bartender, who is a tub of cottage cheese, says to them, “We don’t serve your kind in here.” One of the yogurt cartons says to him, “Why not? We’re cultured individuals.”

FYI, I only have four games that have completed since Star Ambassador was introduced, but I just got it surprisingly. I can't imagine I average 5 messages per turn, but I am fairly communicative. I imagine the threshold has changed over time because it seems unlikely you would send more than a couple messages per phase on average in the mid to late game. There is often just not enough to say to a declining number of players, some of whom are unwilling to talk back.

As I understand it, the process includes data from before the Player Classes were introduced. Further, if you message each opponent twice per season for the first year or two, you are already averaging 14. I know that I can well exceed that initially as part of forming the relationships. As the count goes down later in the game, you have already established quite an inertia.

I just joined a game during the 1913 build phase and joined in a draw after spring 1915. This leads me to wonder: Does the Star Ambassador criteria counts only those turns I was in the game for, or all of them?

Thanks.

I have never surrendered and never NMR'd, and hope to keep that alive. Never mind, the perfect run has come to an end. Dammit, DAMMIT, DAMMIT.
