Bookie's Book: Pagane
Anakin's Second Lightsaber: pjkon

Potato
Creation Date: 08 Mar 2014
Name: Potato
Properties:
Possession: The potato is initially possessed by ZoomZip
Flow: The potato must be given to another player during each turn by the current possesser. A legible, bolded statement is sufficient to accomplish this goal. For example, if ZoomZip has the potato posts the phrase "I give the potato to Crunkus" is sufficient to transfer possession of the potato to Crunkus. Upon receiving the potato, the potato may then not be given away until the next turn begins. The potato may not be given back to the player who gave someone the potato the turn previously. If a player does not give the potato away as required in this rule, the potato flows to the next eligible active player in alphabetical order after the player current holder (moving to the start of the alphabet if the end of the alphabet is reached). In order to be eligible, a player must be active and not the player who gave the potato to the current holder the previous turn.
Legacy: If the player possessing the potato becomes inactive, then the potato moves automatically as if the current holder had not passed the potato, as described in its Flow property.

Other:
The potato has starchy goodness.
The potato has a value of 1.
The potato is food.

Bookie’s Book
Creation Date: 12 Mar 2014
Possession: Upon creation, the Bookie’s Book will be possessed by Crunkus.
Flow: At the start of a proposal phase, the Bookie’s Book is transferred automatically to the active player whose turn is scheduled to come next in the turn order.
Legacy: If the player possessing the Bookie’s Book becomes inactive, it will transfer to the active player whose turn is scheduled to come next in the turn order.
Title: The possessor of the Bookie’s Book is referred to as “the House”.
Protection: The Bookie's Book is Protected.
Opening Betting: The House must open betting for the turn by opening a betting line. The procedure for this is as follows:
  1. The House will open betting in a post by writing the betting line on its own line, in size 125 or greater, and in the color green (defined as #008000).
  2. The betting line must be opened during the Proposal Phase. If the Proposal Phase is ended early by the proposer and the House has not made a post to the thread, then the betting line must be opened in the House’s first post during the voting phase.
  3. A failure to open the betting line will result in a loss of 10 points for the House.
  4. The format of the betting line is one of the following:
    1. OVER/UNDER: The betting line will be “OVER/UNDER: [CONDITION]”. The condition must specify a number of votes, and type. For example: “OVER/UNDER: 3 RED AYE VOTES”.
    2. PASS/FAIL: The betting line will be “PASS/FAIL: [VOTETYPE]”, where VOTETYPE specifies the election. For example: “PASS/FAIL: PROPOSAL 307”..
    3. YES/NO: The betting line will be “YES/NO: [PLAYER] WILL VOTE [VOTE] FOR [VOTETYPE].” Player is the player being referred to, Vote is the vote they will vote, and Votetype is the election in which the player casts a vote. For example, “bob.durf will vote AYE for the Thing”. The House may not select himself as the player for this betting line.
Placing Bets: After the betting line has been opened, and prior to the end of the Voting Phase, each player may place a single bet. The format of this bet will be “[CHOICE] [CURRENCY]”, where CHOICE is the player’s selection, and CURRENCY is a positive integer units of a legal currency in the game between 1 and 10, inclusive. The bet must be placed on its own line, with size 125 or greater, and in the color green (#008000). A bet that does not specify one of the two applicable bet types will be considered invalid, and not processed. Example bets for each type are as follows (assuming dollars are a legal form of currency):
  1. OVER/UNDER Example: OVER 8 points
  2. PASS/FAIL Example: PASS 3 dollars
  3. YES/NO Example: NO 2 points
Bet Resolution: at the start of the Adjudication Phase, the player who posts the results will also resolve bets. The resolution is as follows:
  1. OVER/UNDER: If more than the specified number of votes are cast for the specified condition, then all OVER bets are winning bets, and all UNDER bets are losing bets. If fewer than the specified number of votes are cast for the specified condition, then all UNDER bets are winning bets, and all OVER bets are losing bets. If the condition is met exactly (OVER/UNDER 3 RED AYE VOTES), then all bets are losing bets.
  2. PASS/FAIL: If the vote specified passes, then all PASS bets are winning bets, and all FAIL bets are losing bets. Otherwise, all FAIL bets are winning bets, and all PASS bets are losing bets.
  3. YES/NO: if the player specified in the bet bets as specified, all YES bets will be winning bets, and all NO bets will be losing bets. Otherwise, all NO bets will be winning bets, and all YES bets will be losing bets.
  4. All winning bets will be resolved by the player gaining the currency wagered, and the House losing the same amount of currency. Losing bets will be resolved by the house gaining the currency wagered, and the player losing the currency.

Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber
Creation Date: 15 Mar 2014
  • Possession: Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber comes into play initially in the possession of the player who most recently entered the game. Note: By "entered the game" most recently this refers to the player who, not previously an active or inactive player in Nomic 5, entered the game for the first time most recently.
    • "Your father wanted you to have this when you were old enough, but your uncle wouldn't allow it. He feared you might follow old Obi-Wan on some damn fool idealistic crusade like your father did."
  • Flow: If the possessor has a positive midi-chlorian count: Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber can be transferred to another Jedi during any Voting Phase. The possessor must type on its own line, in size 125 or greater, in all capital letters, and in the color black (defined as #000000 or no colour code), "GIVE Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber TO [TARGET JEDI]". Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber should be in italics. If the possessor has a 0 or negative midi-chlorian count Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber can be transferred to any player during any Voting Phase. The possessor must type on its own line, in size 125 or greater, in all capital letters, and in the color black (defined as #000000 or no colour code), "GIVE Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber TO [TARGET PLAYER]". The name of Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber should be in italics.
    • Example: GIVE Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber TO connect4.
Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber often changes possession at the start of a turn. The rules for this follow the following priority progression, with all ties being settled first by picking the player involved in the tie that entered the game the most recently, and if there is still a tie, then it is resolved by alphabetical order.
    1. If there are any Jedi Knights active in the game, Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber begins the turn in possession of the Jedi Knight with the least midi-chlorians. If there are no Jedi Knights active in the game then proceed to priority 2.
    2. If there are any Jedi Masters active in the game, Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber begins the turn in possession of the Jedi Master with the least midi-chlorians. If there are no Jedi Masters active in the game then proceed to priority 3.
    3. If there are any Jedi Padawans active in the game, Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber begins the turn in possession of the Jedi Padawan with the most midi-chlorians. If there are no Jedi Padawans active in the game then proceed to priority 4.
    4. If none of the first 3 priority conditions are met, then Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber begins the turn in possession of the player who possessed it at the end of the last turn. (It stays put.)
  • Legacy: If the possessor of Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber goes inactive then possession of Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber is transferred to the player who entered the game Nomic 5 most recently. Note: This legacy possession change is not to override the Flow possession change outlined above. It may well be the case that the Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber will pass quickly again to someone else once the next turn begins.
  • Lightsaber: Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber is a lightsaber.
  • Colour: Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber is blue in colour.
  • Grounded: The possession of Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber offers protection from electrical based offensive effects.
  • Protected: Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber has the property of being Protected.
  • Bad Ass Sounds: Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber has the property of making bad ass sounds when you do stuff with it.
  • Confrontation: The property of confrontation allows a player to target another player with the Thing with this property in a game event known as a confrontation. In order to successfully confront another player, the possessor must type on its own line, in size 125 or greater, in all capital letters, and in the color black (defined as #000000 or no colour code), "CONFRONT: [TARGET ACTIVE PLAYER] WITH [Unique Name of the Thing with this property].
    • Example: CONFRONT: Crunkus WITH Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber.
  • An Elegant Weapon, For A More Civilized Age: A player who possesses Anakin Skywalker's Second Lightsaber at the beginning of the Adjudication Phase has 2 midi-chlorians added to their midi-chlorian count.
