The PCG does not recognise the Latin Empire's claim on MdP.

We would also like to encourage the Latin Empire to reconsider any future attempts to bring discord and disharmony to Mars.

However, In light of this recent (spurious) claim, and with MdP clearly being viewed by certain parties as an easy target, we offer the people of MdP the status of a temporary protectorate of the PCG, if they should so desire it, for as long as it may be needed.

If the Latin Empire plans to enforce this claim through the use of force against the people of Mar del Plata the Jan'isi will not rule military action off the table. Venusian Martians have been a mainstay of this planet for centuries and any attempts to subvert their sovereignty are attack on all Martians. The Consortium's Entinates take seriously the responsibility of acting as a steward not only of the Janisist faith, but the Red Planet as a whole and we offer all resources to Mar del Plata in these times.

In other news, the Jan'isi announces new plans that will radically alter the nation's relationship with the squatter towns that inhabit the Entinates. For too long, successive Baunairi governments have been content to allow them to live on the margins of society. While there are obvious success stories like Moriyah and Zodanga, which have prospered as city-states for generations, impassioned arguments in the ruling Synod have resulted in renewed efforts to integrate them into the Consortium and offer them unlimited opportunity.

Our civilization ranks as among the most prosperous in Sol and with unparalleled developments in civilian technologies and infrastructure there is no reason the Entinates cannot provide world-class services to populations that have existed here for years. Many squatter towns were created after Ragnarok by fleeing Terrans who came illegally during the Celestial Trek. Many more were erected during the wars that ravaged East Asia and South America by those seeking a rich safe haven that prides itself on diversity. And while most converted to the faith, their lack of work or improper papers prevented them from finding that safe haven.

That is why the Jan'isi commissions new programs and initiatives to offer formal energy grids, cultural amenities (for which the Entinates are famed), and other key resources needed to create true communities. A board is established that will manage the reunification of families that have been separated for years, while also helping with the introduction of voting rights to all, including those who came illegally. The stakeholder package system will be amended to allow for easier access as well offering state assistance for those unable to fully purchase. With these reforms and many others, the Consortium's Entinates promises to be that oasis city for all Martians, regardless of their citizenship status or country of origin. A nation as bountiful as ours cannot sit by and allow others to provide that which we can provide better, given our superior investments and holy mandate.

For the record, the Latin Empire has no intention or desire to actually rule over Mar del Plata. I will, however, beer launching a campaign on the city to cut it off from the UPF and ensure its own actual independence.

A statement from the Municipal Government of the Free City of Mar del Plata:
The Latin Empire's claim to the Free City is without legal or normative merit, and the only thing that makes the claim more ludicrous is the fact that it was made in response to the Universal People's Federation's promise to provide health care and education to all who come to the Federation in search of aid. Mar del Plata is a historic center of democratic and leftist thought within the Venusian civilization-sphere, and is ruled by a municipal government no less socialist than the Federal government. The Municipal Government is bemused by Latin Imperial intentions - are they under the impression that Mar del Plata, a city used by the repressive rightist regimes that used to rule Venus as a place to stash leftist and democratic dissidents, is begging for the aid of fascists?

Training Accident Claims the Life of Afghan Soldier

Private Ghilzin in the Afghan Armed Forces has recently perished in a live-fire training accident. While investigations are still underway, trying to determine possible malevolent motives, or poor leadership and safety precautions, his fellow soldiers have long since made up their minds.

"It's that blasted rifle," Sergeant Adamkhel claims. "Ever since Afghan Arms Services got the big contract, safety has gone down the toilet. The rifles look like they were made by a toddler in their backyard, the bullets are only roughly bullet-shaped, and they shoot straight as a circle. I'm only surprised it took this long."

The little-known Afghan Arms Services rose to prominence in the country after the Defense Minister awarded them the big contract, annoying the traditional arms suppliers. The Defense Minister is likely to become more unpopular - the current fiasco won't help the scandal-ridden minister whose deputy has been accused of taking bribes.

This is a judged action.

The Patriotic Front is highly active in Albania. Given the semi-official status of the organization in Albania, they have been able to create recruitment videos promising a hefty paycheck for those without skills who seek to liberate their homelands from foreign rule. However, while these videos have boosted recruitment, they have also attracted a large number of thugs, hampering cohesion and discipline.

Independent news organizations in Bolivia report large numbers of Cyonic citizens being arrested trying to flee across the border into Bolivia and Paraguay. A smaller number has been apprehended by the PCG border enforcement agency and are being medically treated in refugee camps as they struggle to cut through the red tape that would allow them to be deported back to Cyon. PCG Terra's governing board seems disinterested in trying to expedite the process of deportation in the slightest.

Just wanted to make this info about Liberation public:
According to Judge Subs:

The Costas branch no longer exists. In many ways, it was perhaps too successful. The Janisist Martisians, who fought so long and hard against the Baunairi government, were integral in the coup against the decadent regime. Now, the religious government of Baun draws its strength from the Janisist Martisians who were formerly the backbone of Liberation. Now that their people are in power, the members of Liberation Costas slowly left and become less dedicated to the organization. The Liberation orphanages are now run by other charitable organizations.

For clarity, the history of the orphanages is not known. They still exist, but no one knows that they’re formerly Liberation
