Mokualili - replacing older designs with new designs to match the changed defense strategy of Mobius, and with a focus on upgrading the defensive and offensive capabilities of our ships. This is I suppose less about the specific manufacturing and more a targeted strategy to move naval technology up another generation, setting in place the infrastructure and assets to support a modern navy. 6.5/10

HFPE Ghost Ship III: a former stealth and sensor project from before, now being once again upgraded with significant more EW capabilities meant to not only hide our ships but let us find our adversaries. 6.5/20

Cylon II has begun. In previous generation, Cylon technology was used to incorporate Mobius biotech into the Armada through the use of Wheatshield, nanobots, and various technologies developed in public and black programs (OOC ie Nightmarchers, Ogres, etc endOOC). The goal of Cylon will be to incorporate those technologies, leverage them into our new and existing naval platforms, and augment as needed for naval warfare. This has the end results of fewer sailors required on ships, enhanced durability, and improved self-test and self-repair at sea. This project is leveraging the technology currently being used to upgrade the Ogre fleet and is tangential to that project. 6.5/20

Ongoing projects:

Firepunch missiles have generally become much lighter, much faster and slightly cheaper, while retaining their firepower. These new missiles will now be known as Light Firepunch missiles, while a newer Heavy variant will be designed. This variant will have a nuclear arsenal, and more ClusterCluck missiles that can shoot off an additional 8 v4 Knife Missiles each.

Effector research continues. Through the use of x-ray and gamma ray EM waves, effectors can target even the most tightly protected military-grade computers, at the cost of a range penalty (in on-world scenarios). Mass-targeting has increased in efficiency and the actual hacking of systems has become more precise, and more successful.

The Quietus initiative has re-opened with additional funding. While the project slowed, research had continued albeit on a limited scale. Several facilities needed to be burned after certain territories left the URMA, resulting in a halt in certain initiatives. Nonetheless, the first steps to building a perfect clone army continues with project Ultra Instinct. The goal of this project is to work on the neurocognitive part of clone soldiers. Essentially, the project will work on bio-engineering instinctual high-grade combat skills. Several hundred high ranking Black Robes have volunteered their Second Form mind-states to train under a 200 year-long, increasingly strenuous, potentially lethal combat regimen at YZ Ceti.
Additionally, designs for a QI Omega MBG will be mapped out. The goal is for gear that can be constructed quickly and efficiently with our 3D printing and construction nanite tech, while also powerful.

Non-HFPE:
Uber-FTL research continues. Windreta Drives still manage to attain the fastest FTL speeds in the cosmos. While the Drives continue to work best on extremely-high-mass ships, the use of gravitons has managed to simulate a "Windreta Effect" on smaller craft, at the cost of higher fuel requirements (i.e. smaller craft can attain the same speeds of larger craft, but for shorter periods of time). Further research will be mostly military-based (HFPE in order to bypass anti-warping technologies that have cropped up over the years).

Ghost Hands II completed some time ago. The next iteration of the project will last 100 years with the pure goal to further develop field manipulation technology while minimizing energy consumption.

Resumption III has also completed, with Attis Nanites becoming integrated into the design of these nanite clusters.

We have a final ongoing project, starting this year: Energy Shark. The plan is to marry our various projects into one pure goal to create near-endless energy storage and supply. This means improving our supercapacitors and Wireless Energy Transfer technology even more, and reducing energy waste in production technologies to near-zero levels. In a rare gesture, we are willing to collaborate with any nation(s) on this project.

The World Tree / Yggdrasil - Yggdrasil is research into developing a tree that restores all of Asteria back to its natural state. It’s an Environmental Recovery Program who when the tree is planted will eventually restore previously contaminated areas.

Numa - Naval base program. It’s a camouflaged island maker. Avoids detection and can make land hidden from observers (satellite, cyber, human etc.) in the middle of the ocean to be used as a base of operations.

All take ~20 years. Numa may take 25.

We have a variety of contaminant-resistant plant-life in the Firne mountain range (they aren't just resistant, they decontaminate the area as well).

We've had Nomads setting off nukes there for centuries and some forms of plants from the Founding Tree rainforest adapted to the conditions there as the rainforest expanded.

We can have some sent down to you to help regenerate these areas. We've already done this in Deseret after a nuke was set off there.
The enemies of my enemies are not necessarily my friend, but they may still be useful.

Biometal: Self-repairing metal that can regrow if damaged

Impact Shielding: An advanced version of our anti-kinetic shields, impact shielding is designed to reduce the damage of any weapon as effectively as possible. It works by dispersing the impact across the surface area of the entire shield, reducing the chance of failure in a single section. Can be used on naval, space, and large ground vehicles.

Computer-Brain Interface: A device that will allow the human brain to interface with computers, greatly increasing their brain’s processing power.
10 Years
Nephilim Class Combat Suit: A military grade combat suit that enhances the strength, speed, and stealth of the user. Includes several onboard AI for targeting use and providing assistance to the user. Implements active camo and regenerative wiring technology as well (from the public tech list).

The Kingdom of Deseret has begun the construction of its first Navel and Air Fleets. In ten years time, 300 modern transports are expected to be built, along with half a50,000 bombers and fighters, and 10 mercury class spaceships.

Are we talking wet battleships or space battleships? Remember, since the world wars, aircraft carriers are king and you'd probably want to invest more into those than in a ton of battleships. If it's space, it's not tactically unsound, it's just hard to pay for.

For the air stuff, you're probably way larger than you should be unless you're tryna use tin cans with an RC motor strapped to them. Mobius has 20k fighters + bombers (roughly), I have half that. At half a million you would perhaps have more aircraft than everyone else in the world put together. Rough math indicates that trying to make this many aircraft would be 6x your GDP and annual maintenance would be 60% of your GDP.

Its been 29 years since this update and all of tehse were completed.

In recent news, two major space fleet modernization projects have been started.

The first is geared specifically towards the Imperial Space Marines, the ships they use, and their equipment, and will take 12 years.

The next, more major event, is the establishment of national shipyards around the planet of Reach. A ringworld type structure will be constructed in orbit around the planet, mirroring the Hadrian strip. Although it will have planetary shield generators and other defensive structure, the main purpose of this structure will not be defense. Instead, the Ring will be galaxy's largest and most advanced shipyards ever constructed. A total of 7 orbital cities will be connected by this ring, with almost nine thousand habitats across the mega-structure. The shipyard will be able to process raw material, construct new ships or equipment within its forges and manufacturing centers, and will house all the requiring living quarters for the inhabitants. The megastructure is expected to take several decades to complete, and a further decades to fully populate. The shipyards is a joint project between Mobius and Pacifica, with Pacifica providing a majority of the cost and engineering, while Mobius is providing its expertise from Hadrian and additional manpower for finding and escorting the asteroid miners. The shipyards will be used for both private, commercial, and military starships, and the current plan is for each of the expected orbital cities on the ring to specialize in one of these aspects. One city has been predetermined to be a 'capital' structure, with military command of the station and housing additional hangars.

Other minor projects include:

Interceptor fighters, for both space and air environments 8 years
Using plasma shielding as hard-light structures and platforms 12 years (expected to be most useful with gravity tech in industrial areas)

Specifically, anyone using one of these computers will be very hard to detect while breaking into a target system. Highly classified.


New Projects:

Guzmán-class Cruiser - 5 years (IRL 29 Nov, 2019)- The Guzmán-class is designed to function in a largely anti-aircraft and anti-missile role when in a larger fleet, but can also be used as a capable patrol vessel when operating solo or in small groups. They are built to be VERY fast and maneuverable, and while armored and shielded, the Guzmán relies on the electronic defenses of larger ships and its own interception abilities to defend itself. Armed with 4 large rapid-fire variants of Blazing Fang turrets, 2 anti-air flak guns, and 1 small missile battery, these ships are very capable rapid response patrol ships and support ships for a larger force.

Ruyter-class Destroyer - 5 years - A new, state of the art naval warship designed to be a highly mobile medium support ship that can still go toe-to-toe with much larger ships. At 500 feet long and with modern Ceonian armor and shielding, it is armed with 2 heavy gun batteries and a long-range missile battery. Finally, while it does have advanced armor and shielding, the Ruyter relies much more heavily on electronic countermeasures than pure armor to increase survivability, with plenty of space for computer experts and technicians.

Nelson-class Dreadnought - 5 years - A massive, extremely heavy battleship meant to serve as a floating fortress for naval operations. While much slower than a Ruyter-class Destroyer, a Nelson Dreadnought is much more heavily armed and armored. It is a full 1,000 feet in length, with 2.5 feet of heavy Ceonian reflective armor and Aurelian shielding. The Nelson is armed with 9 heavy gun batteries and 5 long-range missile batteries. In addition to being naval powerhouses, these dreadnoughts are built to serve as durable command ships, and are packed with the latest and best of Ceonian computers and sensory equipment to outclass any other vessel for electronic warfare. There are several rooms dedicated for technicians and computer experts to operate, dramatically influencing the outcome of any battle.
