Done:

Gyges Suit Upgrades
A large upgrade and updating of our stealth suits favored by Team 17.

Rolling Thunder
An update to our kyousei hi missiles, for greater variants of similar potency/cost (eg - antimatter).

Ongoing:

Micro-Plasma Generators - 4.5 years (Sep. 5)
Plasma Skin generators rely on a large, spread out network of plasma generator relays. In this project, we look at establishing a spread out network of generators themselves - namely, meant to replace the ones used for infantry, or regular vehicle use, and allowing for more segmentation/resilience of our generators.

Apocalypse - 4.5 years (Sep 5)
Another improvement to our Armageddon missile, project Apocalypse will be giving another boost to Armageddon EW in both the long range and approach stages, as well as incorporate smaller, kyousei hi missiles into them.

Plasma Factories - 4.5 years (Sep. 5)
Looking at a standardized, cheaper/weaker version of our plasma droids that can be created in small automated factories - and spread out across our defensive sites.

New:

Scylla - 20 years (Oct. 6)
Project Scylla is an update to our underwater missiles and torpedos - both focused on use versus ships and subs. Variants will be expanded for late stage splitter, as well as increasing speed, range, and EW.

Plasma Shaping - 20 years (Oct. 6)
A more theoretical project, this one will be exploring other ways of shaping and controlling plasma. This has possible applications with our many variants of shield generators, our plasma warheads, and our plasma droids.

From a trade deal with Ceona, the kingdom of Desseret has received outdated technology to speed up its modernization process. This includes Eliminator Rifles, PERL handheld missile launchers, SaberTeeth, Mercury class spaceships, FireTeeth, Detnamissiles, Ultranian Reflective Armor, Aurelian Shielding, Blazing Fang turret, Hailfire Tank In exchange, Ceona has the right to build a military base in the kingdom. With these new Technologies King Bryan has made his intentions clear to expand the borders of the Kingdom to gain more resources and expand living space for the people of Deseret. “From Seattle to Milles City, from El Rosarito to Cheyenne. This campaign will take three stages, a southern expansion, a northern expansion, and finally, a western expansion.

I want to make clear that, for the record, most of the technology I'm giving him isn't really outdated. In fact, most of it is technology still in wide use by the Empire. There are some more outdated technologies, yes, but most are actually quite current

Field Artillery Update - 15 years (Oct. 6)
An improvement to our field artillery - both railgun and coilguns - in accuracy, range, and integration of EW shells/missile warhead variants into shells

Ston Improvements - 20 years (Oct. 16)
A subproject of Project Jericho, Ston had focused on penetration of plasma, energy, and magnetic shielding in our missiles. This will focus on improvements to this subproject in these fields.

New Projects:

The Admiralty has ordered several grand sweeping projects in the naval technology realm

Mokualili - replacing older designs with new designs to match the changed defense strategy of Mobius, and with a focus on upgrading the defensive and offensive capabilities of our ships. This is I suppose less about the specific manufacturing and more a targeted strategy to move naval technology up another generation, setting in place the infrastructure and assets to support a modern navy.

HFPE Ghost Ship III: a former stealth and sensor project from before, now being once again upgraded with significant more EW capabilities meant to not only hide our ships but let us find our adversaries.

Cylon II has begun. In previous generation, Cylon technology was used to incorporate Mobius biotech into the Armada through the use of Wheatshield, nanobots, and various technologies developed in public and black programs (OOC ie Nightmarchers, Ogres, etc endOOC). The goal of Cylon will be to incorporate those technologies, leverage them into our new and existing naval platforms, and augment as needed for naval warfare. This has the end results of fewer sailors required on ships, enhanced durability, and improved self-test and self-repair at sea. This project is leveraging the technology currently being used to upgrade the Ogre fleet and is tangential to that project.

PMO: Sino-Venusian Nobility

Rebuilding the Dragon Ranches: The nobility of the Old Empire rode into battle on dragons, and in our withered state, such an impressive sight is even more important to keep up appearances. We will use existing gene-mod technology to design a primitive dragon model, as well as the agricultural and industrial systems to support raising and equipping them. 15 years.

Spending a year to replace the outdated submarines in each of the 3 fleets with 100 Umbra Subs per fleet.

beadsman wrote:Ongoing Projects:

Armageddon-class Transport - est. 20 years (IRL September 29, 2019) - A large, elliptical, 500 meter long starship. It is designed specifically to carry a Legion in space and quickly deploy them to a planet surface using drop pods. This method is meant to entirely replace earlier methods of landing troops on planets. In addition to the Legion, the Armageddon Transport will include 4,000 MATT Gunships for escorting the pods and subduing planetary defenses.

Project Aquaticus (Not really research, and more a military defense operation, but I'll put it here anyway) - est. 20 years - In order to increase the defensibility of our core Terran territories, we will saturate the east and west of our South American territory and the coast of Iberia with several layers of anti-submarine mines (with seagates as described below, but the locations will not be made public), detection buoys (to detect any and all incoming ships or submarines, which will be verified with all scheduled trade), and "walls" of layers and layers of anti-ship mines with a few restricted several-mile long openings. The locations of most these "seagates" will be made public. Some others will be kept secret as a way to more quickly deploy our own navy.

Completed Projects:
Water-based Chameleon Cloaking - est. 5 years (IRL August 30) - A relatively simple project, I'm simply adapting Chameleon cloaking for both underwater and surface use for future naval designs. This will be some seriously incredible cloaking, especially after 70+ years of intense research in the past.

Umbra-class Submarine - est. 10 years (IRL September 9) - Using Water-based Chameleon Cloaking, the Umbra-class is a brand new, state-of the art submarine design. At a length of 40 meters long, these subs are powered by 3 fusion reactors, 8 torpedo tubes, Neutrality, RotA comms, a pressure hull for increased stealth and deep sea operations, internal muffling, advanced Aegis targeting systems, 4 Silencer Propulsion Engines, 2 El-0 reactors and an advanced Battlehammer-class AI. These are extremely potent, extremely deadly, and virtually undetectable submarines. Sure, they are detected once they fire their torpedo volley, but not only will their target be quite busy trying desperately to not sink, the submarine is equipped with El-0 technology to rapidly change vertical position and go stealthy again, evading capture. It is also of note that, being fully automated, the dangers of changing pressure do not apply to this craft. They are also able to stay submerged and/or dormant nearly indefinitely thanks to their powerful reactors and lack of crew. It is a form of hybrid, as the fusion reactors generate extra power to charge the several onboard batteries. When attempting to avoid detection, the reactors are temporarily shut down, and power is drawn from the reserve power. This reserve power can run the sub for several days at minimum power, or 8 hours at full power. This eliminates the problem of nuclear reactors being loud and giving away their position.

New Projects:

Nestor Advanced Hacking Computers - 35 years (RL 12 Nov, 2019) - These beauties use light computers, a built-in intelligent AI assistant, and a plethora of other cutting-edge technologies to assist the user in accomplishing unprecedented feats of computer hacking. Specifically, anyone using one of these computers will be very hard to detect while breaking into a target system. Highly classified.
