Site scoring system (Feb 2nd 2013)

Suppose i've had draws drop me in rankings under old system too, just not used to seeing the negative value show up right in the points. It stings more!

Alright, new question on the site scoring system!

We all know the game is scored based on the level of the players you are competing against, the better the player the better the score. So here's the question, is the game scored against their ranking at the start of the game or the end? Let's say i am playing against a bunch of the top guys on the site but through the duration of the game they all tank a bunch of other games and drop considerably. Did i beat the diplo-gods they were in the beginning or the choke artists they are today?

Also, if a player surrenders half way through once he's whittled down to one center and nobody replaces him is there full credit in beating that guy or is it pre-rated based on how many rounds he played?

Just random curiosity stuff, not really campaigning for changes to the system one way or another. Helps get me excited about a game having an idea whats on the line as I'm playing it.

It scores against their score at the END of the game.

And if no one picks up the spot, it counts as playing against the surrenderer the entire game.

Yeah that's what i thought. I while back i was playing a game against the #2 guy on the site and hours before i was about to win a solo against him he lost a game and dropped quite a bit. Burned my ass since if somebody would have just finalized a retreat sooner it would have been a much better payday. What're ya gonna do, eh?
