Diplomacy Lite (RESERVES WELCOME!)

Postby Blackfish » 13 Mar 2013, 10:14

This is a map "drawn" by Jason (???) (well, he sort of really just erased borders, but he deserves some credit) . His email is in the top left corner of the map for some reason. Obviously it isn't meant to be taken seriously. Here's the VariantBank link.

Image

Variant Rules.I made them up. Click the link I mentioned above and you'll see why. (For those that can't be bothered, it's because the page is empty except for the map)
  1. The standard rules of Diplomacy apply except for amendments below.
  2. Players can only build armies.
  3. There are 7 SCs on the board, the victory condition will be 4 SCs
  4. Arrows between spaces separated by sea signify that armies can travel across the sea without use of a convoy. Spaces that border others via use of magical arrow are as follows
    • England - Germany
    • England - Russia
    • England - France
    • Italy - Turkey
  5. The starting builds are as follows:
    England: Army in England
    France: Army in France
    Russia: Army in Russia
    Germany: Army in Germany
    Austria: Army in Austria
    Italy: Army in Italy
    Turkey: Army in Turkey
  6. This is a build anywhere variant.
  7. Draws are unavailable in this game because if you can't finish this game, then unfortunately, I can't help you. See a doctor.
  8. Stalemates will be resolved by a game of Scissor, Paper, Rock upon request of both parties involved.

GM House Rules
  1. I will run this game as a 2/1/1 and attempt to make this the fastest completed game in PlayDiplomacy history. I will give reminders approximately 24 hours before the Orders deadline, though this may not always be the case. Not recieving a reminder is not an excuse for NMRing. If you miss the deadline, see NMR policy below. If you can't commit to such a demanding game, then unfortunately, I can't help you.
  2. I will always enforce speed deadlines, whether orders are marked provisional or not. You have one unit to move at the start and a maximum of three by the end of the game! If you mix up orders for them, then, unfortunately, I can't help you. See a doctor.
I may change this rule if 5 out of the 7 players post that they would prefer to have standard deadlines with finalising being an option etc. *Yawn* *that was boring enough to type, let alone implement!*
  3. Country Selection will be completely random. I will use random.org to decide who gets which country.
  4. NMR policy is as follows:
    • Are you serious?
    • You most definitely are not.
    • If you NMR, unfortunately, again, I can't help you. See a doctor.
    • Yes I will replace you if you NMR.

I will get started once 7 players join. :D

Current Inventory of players:
1 X Shibablo
1 X Joelsdaman1
1 X GhostEcho
1 X Shavemybaby
1 X lecrae
1 X Pharaoh of nerds
1 X Sinnybee
**Inventory Full**
Reserves List(I shouldn't even need this...):

This should be interesting!

me!
ice cube in a dark drink shines like starlight
starlight shines like glass shards in dark hair
and the mind's eye tumbles out along the steel track
fixing every shadow with its stare
