Those Who Teach, Do - A Demonstration Game

Announcing the PlayDip's first ever demonstration game being held by our team of mentors! The game has started today, and the interested can find it here, 104997. Mentors Game, if you would like to follow along. The mentors taking part are:

Aaron the Hun - Germany
drnomeansyes - England
Guns of Brixton - Austria
Radical Pumpkin - France
thewysecat - Turkey
WHSeward - Russia
Young Lochinvar - Italy

We are planning to do a detailed AAR at the end of the game, but in addition, we are offering to interested current and former mentor game players to have the opportunity to communicate with a mentor via PM during the game to allow following along with the action a little more closely than normal. If you are interested in being a part of this "insider" watch list, post on this thread or PM your mentor. Don't worry if your mentor isn't playing - to balance the load, we will distribute insiders among the playing mentors.

One thing to note, the mentors are taking this as a serious game. It is a ranked game and there are plenty of bragging rights on the line. As such, the mentors ask that anyone that participates in the special insider watch list to keep everything they learn strictly confidential until after the game. No forum posts and no PMs to anyone about the game other than their assigned mentor and watch group.

Also, be aware that we are playing 5/1/1, no weekend deadlines. That means we will have one turn per week and the game should last around six months, so don't get too impatient.

This is our first time trying something like this out. I hope it is a great event.

I'm not a new player, but I have a lot to learn.

Put me on the watch list!

Who will school his fellow mentors? This should be exciting. Put me on the watchlist too.

Sounds great!

Please pair me with a random nation as I am sure I will learn plenty from any mentor in this game. Looking forward to seeing behind the curtain!

Best,

WHS was my (feels like a long time ago now) mentor, but I'm happy to be added to anyone's watchlist as long as I'm on somebody's :)

(also that gets me out of any possibility of feeling obligated to do any sorts of odds for this, which is nice ;) )
