Hello

Postby GuitarMan » 22 Nov 2020, 16:51

Hello,

No idea if anyone is still here from when we used to play this game a long time ago. I was just thinking about History of the World this morning and reminiscing about how much I enjoyed it, and how much I appreciate the community, as well as the wider playdiplomacy team that let us play this game on their forum (though normal diplomacy is and will always be one of the greatest games ever made).

Missing those times and all those who joined.

Think of this as a "twenty year high school reunion." Game ended years ago, unfortunately.

Good to see y'all still around and doing well though.

It was a solid game, but tbh the forum just doesn't have the playerbase for something like this anymore IMO.

I dunno. I've been looking around but the golden age of forums seems to be mostly over.

The issue is where do we get the playerbase? HOTW needs a DM and like, idk, five *very active* powers minimum. Maybe if we cut it down to Europe (UK, Germany, France, Russia, Austria/Ottomans/whatever), we can have a functional game with few people. The core problem is recruiting at least a half-dozen people and closer to ten for a long-form game where they don't drop out. It was easy when the forum was crawling with folks, we've got far less now.
