Yes, but many of their markets overseas were diminished or monopolized by British merchants and investors. Especially since the British seized Cape Colony and Ceylon, these important way stations to the Dutch Colonial Empire were lost and fully converted to the use of the British Empire.

Japan only makes 25 more gold than you, and they have more than one core region. I agree that it's kinda insane how much money Portugal and the Netherlands make.

yes, but they have few recourse. Ideally, that should incentivise the Japanese player to be fairly expansive.

In terms of total resource wealth, they are fairly low on the spectrum.

look at their core they make more than the US or prussia

You make just as much as the US and more than Prussia. I mean, I don't really care much either way, but if you didn't want to be weaker than Japan, there were a ton of other countries to put down as your choices.

no no i dont care about wealth, I was just saying they have more wealth than the US, i chose Netherlands for the same reason i chose Nubia and Afghanistan
