Some helpful stuff I would recommend adding for people who are new to the game to learn the basics before people start thinking about variants:
Number of Participants: 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10
Number of Spies: ______2 - 2 - 3 - 3 - 3 - 4
Number of Resistance:__3 - 4 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 6
The following table is used to show the number of people to go on each mission:
Participants in the game (along the top, underlined)
Mission (going down, in bold)
Participants in the mission(in the center, in italics)
___ 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10
1. - 2 - 2 - 2 - 3 - 3 - 3
2. - 3 - 3 - 3 - 4 - 4 - 4
3. - 2 - 4 - 3 - 4 - 4 - 4
4. - 3 - 3 -4* -5* -5* -5*
5. - 3 - 4 - 4 - 5 - 5 - 5
*mission requires 2 fail votes from the spies to sabotage it.
Standard variants:
Merlin - one player on the resistance knows the identities of all the spies, if the spies lose they get to guess the identity of merlin, if they guess correctly they win.
Plot cards - the leader of the mission can decide who he wishes to give plot cards to, they are all useable by both the spies and the town but in different ways, some standard plot cards can be found with a quick search online but you can invent your own. (only recommended for large games)
Blind Spies - The spies are unaware of each others identities.
