When we decided that we would work together I suggested that if I took Poland (which Germany wanted) and him Spain (which I wanted) then it would make it very difficult, and undesirable, for us to stab each other and would force us to reveal what are plans were in order to make the orders. Basically I still said what I wanted Spain to do but Germany was used as a proxy and visa versa :) It created a very strong alliance...!

Mutually Assured Destruction- the principle behind the arms buildup in the Cold War. The idea is that if two parties both have WMDs of some sort, neither will use it because if they did they would be annihilated too.

Ahh ok, I got the acronym but couldn't put it into context... essentially yes! Although perhaps if anything slightly more: it forces you not only to avoid stabbing, but also to contructively work together :)

Speaking of which, how much do you think it adds to the game to not reveal who has what minor powers? It looks like you mostly were able to figure it out anyway.
