1900

GM: Snoopymate25. 3-way draw - Diplomat (Austria) / Doctor Benway (Turkey) / Dunam (Italy)

1900

Postby Snoopymate25 » 09 Dec 2008, 20:51

I've decided to GM a game variant of diplomacy called 1900. It's a "new and improved" version of diplomacy. Only seven spots are avalible, if you want in just post a reply, but please incluced a number from 1 (low) to 10 (high) ranking your diplomantic skill. It won't affect your spot, but it will help me assign spots. Don't worry, the spot will be choosen at random, but some countries need a player with high diplomatic skills. If you want to play, you must read this http://www.floc.net/dpjudge/?page=about:1900, it's a complete overview of the differences between 1900 and diplomacy. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I plan to start it January 10th, unless there are any objections. The phases would be 48/24/24. And here is the map.
List of players:
Diplomat
raytheruler
Dunam
lotr_freak
dilip
Doctor Benway
Khan1234

Waiting list:
CowInAPie
AlwaysOutFirst

All spots filled.

Hey I'd definitely like to be in. When I first read this post I thought "meh, a new dip variant. And it has made italy and austria even weaker, by giving germany, england and france an extra sc. And then I read some of the guide where the guy who made it explains why he made it. (Read that here btw: http://www.diplom.org/Online/variants/1900-061119.pdf)

Seems like an awesome map. I'd love to play it.

I'm probably a 6 or 7.

Saying "You're wrong! There is a god!" is as unhelpful as "You're wrong! There's no god!"

I'm TOTALLY in on this one!! This map looks awesome, and the explanation makes it even cooler.

As for rating myself, I'd say I'm about a 7 or 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. But that's just a guess. I could be less than that. I would really like to know what Diplomat rated himself as.... 10? Lol.

I'd love to play to complete my hat trick of forum variants Crowded, World Diplomacy and hopefully this. As for my diplomacy skills, I don't really know. I've been playing strategic games all my life and feel I have a certain degree of skill in them. I've only played three or four games of diplomacy before I joined this site in September. I've just won my first ranked game, and hopefully I'll have a couple more soon. I think I do pretty well in general. I'll give mysefl a 7, what the hell.

Diplomat replies that he rates himself as 'experienced' and does not put a number on it ;)

Diplomat is done talking in the 3rd person now.

Hahaha nice. ;-)

No, really though. We all had to post what we rated ourselves as. What do you rate yourself as?
