Would players play both games in the sets in pool play at the same time (one as France, one as Austria)? This could work to save time.

FWIW in each pool I'd actually suggest they do it in two sets of games

A vs B (first player is austria, 2nd france)
C vs D
A vs C
B vs D
D vs A
C vs B

and then the second set, again all simultaneous (either starting after all of the first set are done, or perhaps 24-48 hours later, whichever comes first)

B vs A
D vs C
C vs A
D vs B
A vs D
B vs C

That would be quicker, but would people be able to clear enough space, given the game limit of five? That leaves only two other games. I say ask the participants... and as to the idea of having both sets simultaneously, that would be impossible, at least to regular members. Premium members might have unlimited games, but regular members don't. The idea of all three at once is interesting, though.

I'd think clearing space for three games with a decent amount of lead time shouldn't be wildly difficult? Admittedly could be wrong but i'd normally think it's doable.

I’m open on this part as well but in general I’m in favor of giving players leeway to play multiple games at once at a slower pace or 1 game at a time and quickly knock it out before going to the next one. The best way I can do that as a TD I think will be to give a last possible start date for each of the 6 games in pool play.

Is the tournament still happening, or are we cancelling due to lack of sign-ups?

I think basically all tourneys are on temporary hold until new tournament functionality is operational. I know that on my end at least I'm not doing anything on gunboat until that stuff is up and running.
