The other likely role of captain, which is bound to be a huge one, is organizing the messaging/metagaming/deal making between games. All members of a team would need to communicate with each other and be on the same page with negotiations and the like.

I posted before I saw:

Shouldn't the "teams" come naturally as a result of the game dynamics in the 7 games? Maybe I'm missing the whole point..

:?:
7 teams, each with 1-7 players playing a different country in all seven games.
There is no 3 v 4; no 3 v 2 v 2...
Each game is 1v1v1v1v1v1v1 with a member of each team in it.
A game may have 7 or 0 captains in it, it doesn't make a difference, and as the games are anonymous you wouldn't know.

Just to clarify the role of the captains: There are seven teams, each with a captain. It is up to the captain to determine how many members his team will have--I am asking for at least three (including the captain) to insure continuity, but that is based on the honor system. In theory, the captain can play all seven games, or the captain can recruit seven more players to play one game each and play none himself.

To Craw's point, the games will be set to Friends.

Captain please.

Let me know your team name, and also please confirm when you have recruited at least two other players for your team. (I would suggest three or four others.)

ok so I was obviously very confused.....I thought it was 7 players each as a different country in 7 different games where all 7 games were played simultaneously but meta-gaming was encouraged between the 7 games. In that scenario captains make no sense....though what I was thinking might make a fun tournament by itself....

As it's been explained to me the captains make more sense.

I'd like to participate as a team member...so once you have your captains picked out let me know...Captains, I'm a free agent.

It's essentially that, except that rather than one player playing all 7 games, you can form a team and divvy the games up accordingly. I just think the team play component will make it more enjoyable, and it will also dramatically reduce the risk of someone disappearing.

I am fascinated by this idea and am definitely in. Please sign up "Team Gooz" and I will have at least two more players within the next week.
