Loeb9 Variant Expression of Interest (9 on modded std map)

Postby foxbane » 21 Dec 2009, 00:29

Hey folks,

I am wondering how many people would be interested in joining a Forum based variant called Loeb9. It is modded Dip map with 9 countries not 7 with Sweden and Spain added with extra SC's and new provinces added.

Details and map can be found at:

Loeb9 details: http://www.diplom.org/Email/judge/info.loeb9.html

Map: http://www.xcelco.on.ca/~ravgames/dipmaps/loeb9_ra.zip

I first played this game in early 90's via email on the Dip Judge system.

If we get the numbers I propose this would start mid January on a 24 hour turn (subject to approval of the Forum moderator etc).

Country selection will be random.

Questions etc just shout.

PS As far as I am aware no changes were made to variant after 1990 but I am checking this and will confirm the variant details before game starts.

Update (19/1/10):

We have 9 people and have asked for a Forum to be created for this game.

Feb Update

One player could not confirm, still looking for one more player!

Interest so far from:

    Firestorm94
    Jobson15
    Pokerface
    lordelindel
    vaderi
    Robert Gesualdo
    DOI
Pedros (maybe reserve based on other game activity)
    QueenOfHearts

Moves will be at least 48 hours and builds/retreats at least 24 hours. Longer by agreement of players at game start.

Here is the map embedded here. It is not country coded pr starting units listed but will do that when the game starts.

Image

Islands are provinces (Ice, Ire, Crs, Sar and Sic) as well as can go Cor <-> NAf and Nap <-> Sic with army (subject to special rule of value of that crossing).

Also the rules with better formating can be found at: http://www.floc.net/dpjudge/?page=about:loeb9

Put me down for it foxbane - depending when it starts I might not be able to make it, but I hope I will!

Hi foxbane - what sort of deadlines have you in mind? (48 hours after revised map goes up is good for me - or longer, not shorter)

I was thinking at least 48 hours for moves and 24 hours for retreats/builds. I have no set plan other than 'not fast' so if its 72 hours then thats fine with me etc.
