I'm assuming that the scoreboard is normalized based on who got points for which country, yes? And therefore my poor showing as Italy is earning me 100 points due to everyone else's complete elimination?

Poor showing? You are the top Italy so far!

Check out Mal with Austria. So far he's getting 100 points for being the only Austria not eliminated by 1905! (or suffering a defeat by a solo)

So as long as I mercilessly squash every Italy left in every game I'm in, I'm golden, eh? :D

The tourney seems to be chugging to a slow conclusion. Three interesting games still going (#'s 09, 12, and 13 2nd try), and by my calculations the tournament winner is still very much in doubt (depending on who the leaders are in which games I guess). Probably don't want to comment further as it might breach the "no discussion of ongoing games" rule, but I'd just like to take this time to thank everyone for your impressive devotion to the tournament. There have been very few NMR's (less than 5 perhaps?) out of 12 games resulting in some quality deathmatches!!

Anyway, on with the remaining games. Also, now that we are getting near an end I thought it would be worth bringing up the closeout time in terms of tournament scoring. In one of the early set-up posts I offhandedly threw out 1920 as a cutoff date for discussion. I have seen no comments on the issue, so I will interpret the silence as agreement and use that cutoff for the final 3 games should it be necessary. They are still a long ways off from 1920, BTW.

Also one more aside: in the end going here it would seem that knowing who is what country could be useful in winning the tournament. And being as I am the current leader, I would just like to state that I have purposely avoided looking at any of the game assignments since the tournament has begun. There were so many games, and the games were so boringly named, and my brain old and feeble enough, that I can truthfully say that I basically have no more information in my head with regard to who is what power at this point than anyone else in the tournament. Of course, you will have to trust me on this, but I thought it wouldn't hurt stating this point.
