People may or may not have been fiddling with the gun up until this point. You wouldn't have noticed, because it didn't make any loud noises.

But suddenly it does.

Your game is interrupted when you hear a loud gunshot from where Telleo is ominously standing. Through his Darth Vader mask, you see a bloody hole all the way through his head.

Uh oh, looks like someone blew their brains out :shock:

Classic Telleo, amirite?

Anyways, it's a game of mafia, one dead person isn't going to get in the way of your game. Someone kicks Telleo's corpse to the side and you continue. However, no one else may fire the gun today, the game of Russian Roulette being over. Until next time.

Yeah it’s basically trading off one day of not catching scum (unless we get lucky with the random kill!) to make life easier on us moving forward. I think it’s worth it? If we do it, everyone has to vote, not voting would be tantamount to a scum claim.

So, shot results! I shot it three times, and I got:

An extra vote today

A bulletproof vest

And poisoned, I die at the end of N4 if I can’t find the antidote.

Killing them doesn't end the game, and it removes any ambiguity about whether we're catching scum or a false positive in the jester. We should agree right here and now to kill the Jester on D1, let them get their win and let us focus on finding scum. Yeah we lose one member of the wagon randomly, but I think the tradeoff is worth it? It does accelerate the game a bit, but...I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing honestly.

It doesn't really give us a chance to get a scum though, unless it's random in whoever is on the wagon of the jester. But mathematically, there's more town than scum so it's more likely we end up with two dead townies when D2 begins. Also, might that kind of take away from interactions/reading cases/wagons on D1, which can be pretty important, especially for re-evaluating during later days? To just have a mechanical kill like that on D1.

Do others think this is a good idea? I'll have to think about it, because I can see where you're coming from too. I just wanted to put out the devil's advocate doubts I thought about when I saw this idea.

You kill a revealed Jester because it prevents scum from fake claiming Jester.

Jester claims past D1 should be ignored

Games where killing the jester ends the game, scum have incentive to NK them, but in this game the jester is just anti-town. Could soak up one NK, I guess, but that’s not worth the tradeoff of having to weigh “are we catching scum, or are we catching a jester?” in later days.

I’m aware. I was asking if you shot yourself three times at the beginning of the day, or If you and Telleo got into a shooting race after he said he was trying to one up you.
