NOTES ON A NAPKIN #1

Postby Malarky » 10 Jan 2022, 11:12

The first issue of NOTES ON A NAPKIN is out now. Let me know what you think. Deadline date for issue #2 is 30 April 2022 so get writing :)

I'm going to be sticking to a quarterly publication schedule going forward but, due to the delay in publishing #1 it was published in the same month as Diplomacy World and it doesn't make sense that they're published in the same month.

I enjoyed the first edition Malarky.
I couldn't get access to Oxmeister's article though, is there any way around that?

Sorry to hear about your dad Malarky, delays in such projects are understandable given the circumstances. Nice editorial.

Thanks for the good wishes, here and in emails from people. I appreciate it.

You may have got unlucky, drillbit. I did something stupid with Oxmeister's article and has to try and fix it. I think you should be able to see it on it's own now but, if not, let me know and I'll go back to it. It's difficult to tell, frankly, because I have access to everything even if the link doesn't work!

Anyway, I'm hoping Ox is going to be sending me the next instalment of his series ;) because if you don't read it, despite his modesty, you are missing something.

And I'm trawling for more pieces to publish, too. There's a lot of knowledge on this Forum to share. Most zines focus on the FTF game, and that's fine, but I want Napkin to have pieces on the online game as a priority. I was going to say anything goes, but that isn't going to be true, so let's say I'll publish anything that's going to be of interest.

I am seriously thinking of hosting a PBEM (email) game of Dip, too. So if anyone's interested - maybe you've not played one before - I can do that. It wouldn't fit in with the publishing dates, because that doesn't make sense, but it would feature week long deadlines because, at the moment, I've really only got the time to adjudicate at weekends. So, if you're up for this, let me know. You'd have to get used to my version of the European Dip board, though :)
