Particular moves you enjoy

What particular moves do you enjoy pulling off when the opportunity arises? Generally these are things that don't happen too often, and they're always satisfying when you successfully perform it.

Some examples from me:
1.) Sniping Liverpool. An innocent-looking fleet in MAO moves to Irish Sea in the spring. England would have just convoyed its new armies off the island, leaving nobody to protect Liverpool in the fall. Easy grab.
2.) Using the Black Sea to convoy. Armies typically always go around it, but never across.
3.) Using Baltic Sea to convoy. Makes for fast-travel from one end of Germany to the other.

I personally love as Italy using the Alpine Chicken opening and then grabbing three builds in 01. You die fairly quickly afterwards because you can't hold onto all your gains and you annoy both your immediate neighbours, but it's fun to do.

However, the one and only time that I could have pulled it off ina FtF game I bottled it and only took two builds.

As England (or France), late in the game when I need to pump armies deep into Russian territory, I convoy to Denmark, then convoy into Livonia. It's a two-turn process for each army, but you can have multiple armies on the way at any given time. 8-)

As England, if I'm unsure about France, but don't want to risk moving to the Channel and upsetting him, I'll open with Edi-NWG, Lon-NTH, and Lvp-Wal. This allows me to bounce myself in London in the fall if necessary (if France takes ENG) and also covers against losing Wales AND North Sea, all the while allowing Nwg Sea to take Norway.

It probably has some fancy name, but I just kind of came up with it on my own one game (Grumpy will remember, I'm sure.) I've used it a couple times since, whether in Spring 01 or later, and I've always found it a nice, simple trick to keep France honest.

Radishes enjoys the move where you stand behind your 'friend' and, taking a sharp object, you plunge it into their back. Thats the move he enjoys most particularly. ;)

Also as England, I like:

Edinburgh > Norwegian Sea
London > North Sea
Liverpool > Edinburgh.

Most people open with Liverpool moving to Yorkshire, but unless you're uncertain about France, this is just silly. Remember that "Library of Openings" that NatRiv was talking about? It called this the Northern Opening, or the Churchill Variant. If all goes well, you can get two builds and keep peace with France. 8-)

Also, only a handful of people have picked their dead celebrities for 2009. Don't wait! Get'em in!

As Russia, Fall 1901, with a fleet in GulfBothnia and army in St Petersburg:

(a) Promise England you'll allow him Norway if he convoys to Belgium (and so gets entangled there one way or another)
(b) Move St Petersburg -> Finland and take Sweden
(c) Build new fleet in St Petersburg
(d) Take Norway with it in Spring 1902 with support from Fin and Swe

It ensures that St Petersburg is free for the 1901 Build
It resolves the potential build-up and stand-off in the north - in my favour.
It provides an army to mind Sweden while my two (and then more fleets) push west.
