Off the cuff, this seems materially town-sided, though obviously I don’t know the full details of night events
But if night events pose equal or even near equal danger to town and scum (and the sample one seems very much to be like that), even 9-4 might be a touch townsided

I'm absolutely willing to change the ratio if it's the right call balance-wise. I'm not sold that it is though. This game is intended to be townsided if the town can navigate the night phase perfectly, and scumsided if they can't. The linked event, for example, does absolutely nothing in a perfect town. Do I think everyone actually times it perfectly? No I don't. Especially considering that there is no time for the town to talk the day before about it and the night phase is only 24 hours. It's bilateral, but I think scum generally will care more about survival here, and manage to weather the storm. Plus, there are a couple that are scum-sided.

That being said, you make a good point. I think 10-3 is too punishing for the mafia, but I also think 9-4 starts to lean too far the other way. I'll drop it to 8-3, which also allows the game to fill up faster!

Because I’m lazy and don’t know if I’ll have time to give a game justice :P

@condude: I think it really depends on how the night actions go
Like the sample I’d view as essentially an RNG outcome that advantages neither alignment

To the extent that other night actions function similarly, it’s almost like a nightless setup, in which point even 9/4 is very hard on wolves. My GUESS is the other actions aren’t quite so town friendly but of course I don’t actually know :P

But I can say that a night kill that scum control is VERY powerful in general and a setup that deprives them of it (both in terms of whittling down townies without risk of dying themselves, AND in terms of eliminating problematic townies without accountability) makes life much harder on wolves.
