Also it's kind of funny to argue I'm out of the drama today. It doesn't feel that way? I think I've been rather central to it and I certainly haven't cared about attracting attention.

I'll also cry if Shadow is scum. There's no one thing I can point out, it's just that so far her ISO feels like a thought progression I recognize and understand.

I will always retain the right to update this read, but I won't be voting there today.

AKFD has been around long enough to know that everything matters. I've played scum with him multiple times, and I am pretty sure we've discussed opening tone as a thing we've both struggled with in the past. So the defensiveness present in his response to Shadow seems off. If he's town... he knows it was a town thing to say. But if he's not town... he may wondering why it didn't sound town.

And then following up on that, he doubles down on defensiveness with the wording of "grasping the concept of something as innocuous as". I am completely certain that AKFD knows he can be and has been caught as scum from his very first post if he fucks up, I've had a front row seat to it. So it just feels like a more defensive reaction than I would expect from a townie who wasn't trying to hit the right tone?

Let me clear this up a bit: I asked that question solely because I was mildly annoyed that Shadow would imply that I wasn't town for that, as I thought that was something in the line of my first post as town in previous games. Nothing more, nothing less.

Now the question is, who is a better axe today: Justin or AKFD? Hmm.

AK, I genuinely am trying to overlook tiny weird wording things more in this game than I have in the past, but I stumble over this line every time I read it and I want to ask some questions.

What were you thinking here when you wrote the line "If we can't rely on the night game to weed out the scum"? Has that ever been a thing we would rely on? Why did you phrase this in this way?

My thought was that in usually mech-heavy games, scum could be caught through any night shenanigans that occur. This can include vig kills, inconsistent power use, and in general trapping yourself in mech talk and being caught in a lie as a result. In mech-heavy games, the night game plays a huge role in scumhunting, which Nimb emphasizes is not to be trusted in his games and so we can't rely on it that much.

Last thing before I go to bed:

I'm thinking that at least one of the scum is coasting right now. I'd be happy to look into the pool of Gatbae/Pinnsmouth/PBubs/sharkfinley in D2 once we get some flips. I wouldn't be surprised even if every single player in the spotlight right now is town, given that so little has happened so far and scum can easily pass off their inactivity as a result.

Night all.

Huh. It's interesting that it came to mind what your usual town opening is. I also don't see why this would "annoy" you if you had this readily available alibi of sorts in your past games.

But why would that annoy you? When I read this in shadow's ISO, my response would have been "Oh, I was saying it was FIVE hours and FIVE pages, and that's cool!"

All Shadow said was that you didn't seem enthused, and to her you didn't. But you read that as an accusation you were scum?
