Spring 1902

Postby Pedros » 29 Jun 2011, 17:34

The battle lines begin to become clearer. Mexico's slow start gathers pace, as does Spain's, but the USA is coming under severe pressure already.

One retreat - Brazil from Uruguay. Retreat asap please, and in any event not later than 1600 BST (1100 EDT) on Thursday 30 June

nb - I allow mis-spelt orders provided that they are unambiguous. This time I allowed Britain's "Tri - ESC", but GSE was also possible and not dissimilar, and another time I'm likely to be less forgiving

First of all, thanks Pedros.

Second of all, the peace-loving denizens of the British Empire would wish to decry and protest the overwhelming force the belligerent Venezuelan government is building up around the idyllic island of Trinidad. We have shown no hostile intent towards anyone, and wish only peace in the Americas- something the United States would also do well to remember. We call on all world leaders to denounce the warlike posturings of the US and Venezuela.

Peace in our Time,

Prime Minister Castle

May I point out your less-than-friendly movements towards Spanish holdings in the Caribbean sea, as well as Argentina? how can you denounce war against the United States and myself, while simultaneously waging war upon two other nations? it sounds to me like the British Empire is swamped, and is trying to trim off some weight dragging her down through verbal trickery and such. a very dishounorable way to fight a war, and I am sure others agree.

I would point out that both Argentina and Spain and I have come to peaceful international borders, and any movements you might interpret as hostile has been agreed upon in international talks. If Venezuela sees talking as something dishonorable, that reflects only upon him.

the fleet ordered to the Eastern Caribbean Sea was agreed upon by Spain? I seriously doubt it. no leader would ever let another unit within striking distance of two of his home supply centers voluntarily. more likely the two of you agreed on a DMZ there, then you violated it. similarly, your fleet in Sar is anything but benign.

however I do not believe this argument change your mind. we should simply agree to disagree, and stop cluttering this thread.

I stand corrected. I do question the decision, but so be it.

It may look stupid but we agreed on it

In case I needed to post it here instead.

F Uru retreats to Pal

Not keen on having the dubious honor of the first retreat.
