Mentored Game for Feb. 2020

It's been quite some time since we've had a mentored game hosted onsite. So, let's fix that.

I will host a game. We can look to start mid-Feb depending on how quickly the roster fills up. Please reply in this thread to indicate your desire to play. Deadlines will be 48 hours for moves and 24 hours for builds and retreats.

EDIT: Please note that I've added a list for Reserves also. If more folks are interested in a mentored game, then please indicate so in this thread and I will add you to this Reserve List - which will also function as a Priority List for the next mentored game.

2nd EDIT: For those of you that have recently requested a Mentor game, the current game is #165410. You can add this game to your "Watch List" by searching for the game number once in the "Active Games" screen (on site homepage). Once you've searched for the game and found it, you can click on the game's title itself and it takes you inside the game, so to speak. (Adding it to your Watch List isn't strictly necessary but it does keep you from having to search for the game each time you want to look at it). Once inside the game, you can look at the Shoutbox (aka Public Press) which is where most of the mentoring and discussion goes on.

I am looking to play. I am taking a world civilization class and will be playing the physical game shortly; counts toward 40% of my entire grade. I believe we will be playing the Colonial Diplomacy version. I hope this can help me get ready to play the game in class and increase chances of a better grade.

I took a peek at the Colonial variant (http://www.dipwiki.com/index.php?title=Colonial). I won't make you any guarantees as to improving your prospects for a better grade
However, I do try to share what I've learned about the 'vanilla' game during recent years and to provide information/resources that is hopefully of benefit to folks who've never played the game at all and to those who may already have some experience playing the game.

No problems with folks who know each other playing - provided there are no pregame alliances discussed. I appreciate your having been forthcoming about the fact before the game gets rolling. I have a number of people whom I consider to be friends/online acquaintances that I play with here.

I've played some Diplomacy, but never online, and I haven't been able to get 7 players together, so all of my games have been... meh. I think I know the rules pretty well tho.
