Gunboat Variant Tourney

Postby mdmuff » 27 Jan 2009, 03:10

Looking to see how much interest there would be in Gunboat Tourney. I really enjoy playing the variant, but I rarely get invited to games of that nature and wondered if there was interest in playing tournament based games.

Thoughts?
Suggestions?
Interested?

Do you have any suggestions for deadlines?

I think a 24hr deadline with Speed option included would be a good starting point for discussion.

I'd join a gunboat tourney. Gunboat, in nature, is low maintenance so its not like people can't fit them into their schedule. One thing, some people don't like the use of unrealistic draw proposals to establish alliances. Personally I'm fine with it, but some people may object to their use to make it a "strict" gunboat tourney.

I'd play a gunboat tournament, with or without draw proposals.

I would like to play too. I would prefer that draw proposals not be used for communication but will play either way.

Perhaps a rule about "No draw proposals before 1904"? Or some other point in time?

I'm interested, count me in please. I like the idea of 24/24/24 with speed deadline, also agree to a rule about no draw proposals until for example 1904 (as Bit suggested).

I'm interested in playing. Agree with 24/24/24 speed and 1904 draw proposal limit.
