I don't remember you offering choices in Baltic k!!

I didn't. I think the player numbers are too small. But I did in '1600'. I'm not fussed either way really and I'm quite happy with random, especially on a map I have not played before. Where I like 'first come first served' is on a map where a number of players are coming back for a second round and may be looking for the challenge of playing a particular country.

Anyway, since random seems to be the preference, lets go random and say no more about it.

We now have seven signed up, which is great (Esclavier has PMd me to sign up). If anybody else is interested, reserves will be welcome.

I won't actually be starting until Americas has finished - but that could be as soon as tomorrow (Monday) and isn't likely to be much longer anyway! Nobody's requested an alteration to 72-24-24 deadlines, so that will stand. I'll post my rules re NMRs etc tomorrow.

Put me down as a reserve please.

If one of the first seven signed up unfortunately has to drop out before the start and it goes with choices for countries, I'd like Cornubia please.

Map and abbreviations

Postby Pedros » 03 Jan 2011, 21:49

Right. We have seven, and War in the Americas is officially over! So we're ready to go.

I've asked Rick for a new sub-Forum under Forum Games - Active - so keep an eye open for it. Everythuing will then happen there. In the meantime, here is the starting map (I've changed some colours because there were problems last time) and assignments. The first deadline, as usual, will be (almost) double - 1600 GMT on Sunday 9 January - 1100 EST. I haven't worked out where everybody is yet, but I'll try to give some helpful timezone alternatives once I have.

My usual rules and procedures re NMRs etc will follow tomorrow, together with abbreviations. The important thing for now is the game rules - absolutely standard Dip, home centre builds only, and not even a two-coast province!

Some of the units on the map are a reduced size - it gets very crowded in the centre. If this is a problem, I'll try to produce a second, enlarged map of that area.

ASSIGNMENTS:-

Anglia (Orange) Acemaster
Cornubia (Purple) Warsmith
Ireland (Green) kininvie
Mercia (Lilac) Esclavier
Northumbria (Yellow) Mago
Scotland (Blue) Superplayer
Wales (Red) Palin
