E-Mail Notification Delay

Postby Gavrilo Princip » 08 Jan 2019, 03:51

Hey, team.

Not sure if this has already been addressed/resolved. Recently I've signed on to a few games, and it's the first time I've been active on the site in a long time. Since I've been back, I've noticed an extremely long delay between when activity happens on the site and when I get my e-mail push notification about it. It's inconsistent, but it will sometimes be hours before I get notification of an incoming message, PP, and/or notice to confirm participation. More often than not, I discover that something has come in simply because I am habitually checking the site, only to receive the actual e-mail notice later in the day.

Was wondering if there was anybody else experiencing this and what could be done.

Many thanks!

There are sporadic reports of email delays. However, my current theory is it is something that works its way out. It seems that some firewalls and ISPs look at the Playdip server as SPAMmy and therefore they tend to block things, but then as players use the site this tends to ease off and things get more regular. It may be that the new notification stuff I am doing will help for some users, in that you will get a notification pop up direct from the site rather than via an email. But that is not Live yet.
