How to sign-up for the Oldies group

Postby Wellington » 08 Dec 2008, 05:47

Greetings.

Oldies is an informal group for the more mature Play Diplomacy Online members (40 and up with current age on your profile) who are willing to admit to growing old disgracefully by playing this game.

We have our own subforum (open to all PDO members: visits from young folks do brighten our dreary days; the subforum is in the Games section if you're looking for it on the Board index).

We also organize oldies-only games on a regular basis. Sometimes you just want to play with people like yourself who still remember the original Spring 1901. ;) Watch the subforum for announcements.

So, what are you waiting for, Gramps? Once the Metamucil kicks-in, get off the pot and sign-up:

  1. Open the Usergroups tab on the User Control Panel (UCP) (when you're logged-in, a UCP link will also appear near the top of each page).
  2. Click the SELECT radio button inside the Oldies frame.
  3. At the bottom of the tab, make sure that Join selected is set in the Select: drop-down menu.
  4. Click the Submit button.

Your request will usually be processed within 24 hours. If it isn't, pm Crunkus and/or Wellington.

Don't hesitate to contact our Moderators Wellington or Crunkus, or anyone else on the team if you have any questions.

Welcome to the rest of your Diplomacy life.

Well, I am 34 years old. Do I meet the age limit in order to join or am I too young for this group to join? :)

I am not getting any younger. And it seems that I can relate more to older guys than younger high school boys, who play Diplomacy. I will join!!! :) :) :)

I would like to join despite falling short of the age requirement by one and a half year. Would that be acceptable?
Does Thomas ever say anything that is even remotely true?
