I should have spelled out the group leader's duties in my opening post.
Formally, there is not much to do:
- Approve members who apply to join the Oldies group. The only screening I do is to check the member's forum profile page for anything interesting he may have posted about himself. I have never rejected an application or removed a member from the group, except when the member has requested it himself (once or twice since the group was formed). The loose qualification of around-forty-and-up is self-policed.
- Update the Games Recruiting topic's opening post as status changes.
Other than that, informally the job is what the leader or leaders choose to make of it. I occasionally start Oldies games. In the past I've done more in the forum to drum-up activity in the group. I occasionally field questions from members and prospective members.
It is possible to have two leaders as Crunkus and I have been. The two can back each other up as levels of activity ebb and flow.
