Posts about Post Count

Postby rick.leeds » 08 Sep 2012, 19:42

Just a reminder about this.

The following is contained in the Forum Guidelines:
General Posting
(a) Spam has a number of forms. Here it is taken to include posts that are generally meaningless in the context of the thread and posts which deliberately take a thread away from the stated topic in order to promote a personal agenda. Posts deemed as spam will be removed.
(b) Raising post count. Members should not simply post to raise their post count. Posts such as these are likely to removed.

Don't make posts SIMPLY about the number of posts you have. Site members aren't interested in this. Post count ISN'T important. Threads such as this are likely to be locked and/or removed.

On a similar topic, it is at least impolite to ask for Karma to be raised. Karma is supposed to be a fun add-on, not a sign of status.

Thanks.

Amen.

Although...if someone, say by the name of "ZeClaw" were to reach, hmm...20,000 posts, isn't that a big enough milestone to warrant a post?

Well, when I joined 1000 posts was an accomplishment still, so I did the 1000 post "get to know you" post...but that was I think the last one I posted...maybe I did a 5000, but I dont think so.

I dont mind the get to know you posts, but the countdowns every 1000 is a little much.

I think there is a difference in putting up posts like THIS ONE from WarSmith which are put up at x number of posts but also give a lot of extra information from posts which just celebrate a number of posts. asudevil's was similar to WarSmith's: provided extra information and made them interesting to read. It isn't the post count that's interesting, it's the posts and people behind them.
